UK taught Nigeria well about corruption… so there are no Nigerians in uk prisons that are serving nonviolence with good behaviour in their prison?

My take on this matter is that Nemesis caught up the Ekweremmadus for failing the common Nigerians as politicians. I heard that he sabotaged the establishment of kidney hospital in Enugu. As for the UK judgement, the court was not fair at all. The credibility of the victim was questionable, and again the surgeon was responsible for informed consent. Of which the boy was let go when he declined. I don’t see any crime committed at all. Moreover, helping your child is like helping yourself. That’s an option anyone would accept including that judge when faced with life-threatening ailment.

Mrs. Ekweremadu is not the first convicted to be celebrated after the release from prison.
The former Delta governor, the former chairman of NPA, and a lot of convicted politicians.
Some even become leaders after their released.
The former petroleum minister will accord the same rousing welcome when she returns from UK.
This is how our level of understanding is.

what are the people actually celebrating…. someone's child could have died or have to live a life complication, just because someone else has the means of flying them to ""a hospital"" outside the country….ang get his/her organ….can you imagine and put that into perspective for a second….can her child…..the governor or whatever the title is….can the governor's kid give organ to the child, obviously the answer is NO""""…uuuughhhhh….. this is beyond my thinking process for sure….

the governor for one….makes enough money to build a hospital in the country, they have not done that….then their kids are too good to be taken to the hospital inside nigeria for procedures…..now understand this…the cost of a hospital visit abroad, can cover the cost of two hospitals in nigeria or more…..such people to me …..

paying a hospital out of pocket in a foreign land, then in a currency exchange that is multiplications stronger than your own….then what happen to """get sense….."" …..

In the same news and newsroom:
    Which is the real news/durations?

    1. Ojy reported Ike's wife was sentenced for 4yrs-6mo, in March 2023 and husband sentenced 9yrs-8mo.

    2. Ayo reported wife was sentenced for 3yrs, in June 2022.

    3. Abati reported wife was sentenced for 6yrs, and husband sentenced for 10yrs.

There's nothing more shameful for a nation than a deputy senate president been jailed in another sane country.

It's shows Nigeria has more criminals and fraudsters in government and leadership.

Re Beatrice Ekweremadu, in the UK we have “automatic release on license” after an individual has served half their sentence. This means that an individual may be released half way through their sentence and then they serve the other half on license. If they commit any offences in that period they’ll be recalled and re-jailed. So Her husband should be released after 5 years as long as he behaves himself in prison.

As for that teacher who teaches with Yoruba, I be you, students will always be happy to be in his class. Because they will understand him properly. In India teachers and lecturers do their teachings in their language. When I ask they say it gets in to the students head so easily.

No politician is a philanthropist because whatever they give to any citizen is a stolen fund that would have made everyone to have a better life.
If it was only their salaries, they wouldn't spend it on anyone,no politician in the western world is a philanthropist except he/she has been a successful entrepreneur or business person before joining politics.
The funds that the Nigeria politicians syphones and start selective favouritism that made media call them philanthropist are enough to make many citizens comfortable as is done in the western world.
The media should stop praising and hyping political criminals.

Abati was very economical with the truth on the Ekweremadu's. The prosecution did a very detailed investigation both in the UK en Nigeria and found the couple highly culpable. Even detailed Ike Ekweremadu's power and influence he used to enrich self with public funds. The court also mindful of parents wanting to save their child but exploit another poor child.

Rufia is on point. Very vulnerable persons do not need education or huge amount of money to develop resilience to poverty. My organisation, Caritas Nigeria did a similar thing in Epe (2023), Ikorodu (2023 & 2024) and Badagry (2024). The results are mind blowing in the implmenting locations, the Ba'ales and their people are always full of praises anytime anyone mention our agency. Kudos to Kano State government!
