Egypt hasn't acted to defend Palestinians, why would they? The Palestinians tried to take over Sinai from Egypt. Why do you think they have no interest in allowing Palestinians into Egypt. They did that once before it was, and the Palestinians waged awar against them.

Letting new terrorist very close to the one they already have in Egypt join the flight is not on their bucket list. And Egyptians are not stupid. They do not want to become the new "Lebanon" . This is why journalism isn't proving to be an effective narrative of events as they occur. Most people were under the impression that the Israeli's already controlled the border with Egypt. We have reporting that is biased in favour of one side of the other and no impartial observers.
