ECOWAS Confirms Formal Departure of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially announced the departure of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger from the regional bloc. The announcement was made by ECOWAS Commission Chairperson, Dr. Omar Touray, who noted that the three countries had a one-year window to retract their decision but did not do so.
