Driving a Mercedes G-Wagon from Jhb to Cape Town | The Ultimate Road Trip! Yes, I went Off-Road!
In this video, you join me on a recent trip where I drove a Mercedes-Benz G400d from Jhb to Cape Town, the long way! Visiting some of South Africa’s most beautiful places, seeing the Namaqualand flowers and Augrabies Falls. Yes, the G-Wagon went off-road too, when last did you see that???

Beautiful work 🤩 total cost of this trip?
G400d is more than good enough for me, it's so underated…its always about the pricey G63
It is so exciting travelling alone because you are taking your own time. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Next time make it a 3 part video, of 30 minutes at least. Just driving around and talking. Make it a journey with the car.
WHY NOT g63
You have a point, no trip is complete without wimpy, finally someone gets me. Also please try the Mercedes c180
I love this review so wholesome!!
That is why I can't wait for the G450d to be released in South Africa later this year or early next year.
I thoroughly enjoyed this G-wagon road trip. The vehicle was put to the ultimate test, tarmac, gravel, rock crawling, river crossing.I love it.This is how you test an expensive SUV,so that you know exactly what you are buying in an SUV.Awesome road trip brother.
Solid review. Very helpful as im quite keen on one soon
Schöckl is in Graz, birthplace of the G Class <3
nice colour
awesome video
Beautiful video
Kindly asking did you receive unnecessary attention because of the beauty of the car?
@Greg Dennis Reviews did u pass delareyville on your to vryburg?
Awsome review 👌🏽
Great content man 👍
The colour is crazy ❤
A friend has a still perfectly original Geländewagen from 1981, and she looks and drives like a new truck. He just did an 8000km Kgalagadi desert trip without missing a beat. I am getting a brand new G400d this week, to be used on dirt roads and tracks.
Finally to see someone using the G on purpose!
I've always wanted to see Northern Cape, it's amazing 😢❤
Men carrying so much luggage 🤔
Great content. Would love to go on a road trip like this
do "die hell" next time in an Amorok or Ranger next time. lovig the roadtrip format and judging by the 27k views I am not the only one
Nice content but don’t lie about not seeing Police in GP. By the way I lived in CT for 20 years and now back in GP. So I know both very well.
Went to AutoTrader and I’ll be honest I don’t think this car is worth R3 million 😂 I thought R2 million and above was G63 territory but damn
How does the car behave when hit by cross winds?
Greatly enjoyed this content. Please keep it up and give more…
beautiful trip man….new here
Did you put nitrogen gas on them tyres I do if I’m gonna be driving during the day for long drives ?
I have done more off roading with a corsa lite 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed it bro, well done!!!
I love a G-wagon anyway. 1 question, is there any body roll on those meandering roads?
Hello from the UK.
What an Epic review! I was gonna give this a miss, but I'm glad I watched it.
Subscribed, of course. Keep 'em coming.

Coool!!!!!!!
Nice content, I was at Grabbies falls in summer, the water was raging and sound was too loud ,,visit again in summer that water level is too low
Nice one, quite enjoyable video…keep it up…
3.7 million, fek I'm poor
Not my favourite ride, but that colour is just something else.
G400d is so underrated man I'm only noticing it now😢
This is beautiful👌
What a great refreshing review. New subscriber alert!!!!
Very Very weak video, does nothing for me personally. The young guy as presenter is very much engratiating himself, speaks a lot about the car can do this, can do that, but no visuals to demonstrate such claims. "Putting the car into Desert Mode" for sand corrugations, my word what a foolish statement and a foolish thing to do. There is very very little spoken about the technicalities of this vehicle, and as an example why Mercedes went from a solid bean front axle to a independent front axle suspension system and what are the advantages and disadvantages. What about the diesel engine, pretty much about said nothing at all. No this youngster is definitely not a credible motoring presenter at all. It appears he has little knowledge about the car, its uses, and then what is the price at over R3 million of this "ENTRY LEVEL" Mercedes "G WAGON", I suppose thats 'OKAY", and what are the comparisons and capabilities to other 4×4 vehicles in this price range: Land Rover, Land Cruiser, Nissan, Hilux etc etc. He does no service to the brand Gelandenwagen, which over many many years has become a ledgendary and very capable 4×4 and off road vehicle. Such a pity and an opportunirty lost. My view as a season explorer (Africa on 4 Wheels)
Great route!
Having already driven the Tank 300, which one would you say is better between the two? 😊
@GregDennisReviews Schöckl is in the state of Styria in Austria – near the city of Graz, where the G-Class is actually manufactured. Fun fact – Dr. Ferdinand Porsche was also born in Austria. Mercedes-Benz and Porsche are both based in Stuttgart, Germany.
The G400d is my pick over the G63 AMG👍🏽
Great video. I think what could top it off would be to include prices for new offlanders or non South Africans planning to make the trip🙏
Man, What a great video. This is my 2nd time watching your content (1st one was the Jaguar F-Type review) and you have gained a new fan. Thank you for the quality content and not just taking us through a car review but very in-depth and personal. Keep up the great work and surely will be checking out all your stuff past, present and future.
Lekker road trip and you have showed me a different route to go down to Cape town.I personally like the fact that it's not touch screen, they are very figgity & for such a tough vehicle o think it suits it,plus getting the screens dirty with your fingers.Fuel economy it's a heavy car so it makes sense.thanks for taking us with you enjoyed it
