The reigning U.S. champion Nia Akins won a chaotic final in the women’s 800m with a time of 1:57.36 at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials 2024. Defending women’s 800m Olympic champion Athing Mu shockingly tripped and fell just seconds into the final and will miss out on the Paris Games.

Just think that she was trying to push over one runner. Intensity of the race reversed the push-over unto herself and she fell. Also it was a tight spot and every runner was trying to take the first lane. Cautious as usual.😳😳😳

It was her own fault. She quickly looked left with her eyes, taking them off of her lane and didn't adjust for the bunch up moment.
