Next time my man wants to kick back and watch a movie Iโm putting this on.
This content is so SPOT ON! I want to do a show to connect these issues. God give me the tools to make this happen. In Jesus nameโฆAMEN.
Dr Umar you are representing for the man and woman! Every thing you said I feel and know and pray I will find and offer that unconditional love
This interview is dope, Dr. Umar spittin on this one man. Powerful interview
Love is conditional in the sense that I won't stand by a woman through anything. If my wife got drunk and started driving and killed 2 kids playing in the street, I wouldn't love her anymore. Just as if a man was a secret pedophile, I wouldn't expect his wife to still love him. Love isn't transactional but it's definitely conditional
He's so cool
Welfare needs cut
UMAR YOU ARE SO FULL OF IT ๐คจLETS TALK ABOUT THAT SCHOOL ๐ซ OK SCAMMER
00:00 ๐ซ Casual sex shouldn't dismiss a person's worth in dating, especially based on race.
01:09 ๐ Dr. Umar Johnson, a certified school psychologist and Pan-Africanist, emphasizes the importance of historical context in understanding the challenges facing black relationships.
02:34 ๐ก The rise of single-parent households among African Americans is linked to economic disintegration rather than historical oppression.
07:20 ๐ Dysfunction in black relationships is often rooted in unaddressed trauma, leading to reactive behaviors rather than healthy communication.
13:36 ๐ฐ๐ Relationships driven solely by money and sex lack depth and sustainability, resembling more of a pleasure contract than a genuine connection.
18:06 ๐ฃ Humility and effective communication are crucial for healthy relationships, allowing partners to understand each other's perspectives and needs without defensiveness.
19:43 ๐ Fear of rejection often leads people to avoid verbalizing their feelings in relationships.
20:38 ๐ง Psychological age matters in relationships as much as biological age, as past traumas can impact emotional maturity.
21:33 ๐ Conflict in relationships is inevitable and necessary for growth; avoiding disagreements is a trap.
21:46 ๐ง Pain bodies, containing memories of negative experiences, influence behavior in relationships.
22:14 ๐คฏ Living together reveals hidden aspects of a partner's personality and is essential before marriage.
25:39 ๐ Love is unconditional, devoid of contracts or conditions; it's about selfless commitment to the other's well-being.
30:17 ๐ Building trust and safety is crucial for partners to open up about their traumas and vulnerabilities.
35:00 ๐ง Childhood experiences, particularly with parents, significantly shape adult behaviors and relationship dynamics.
38:46 ๐ Living together exposes both partners' true selves, revealing habits and behaviors hidden during dating.
38:59 ๐ Cohabitation before pregnancy and marriage allows understanding of partner's habits and lifestyle.
39:53 ๐ Relationship entails compromise and accountability, readiness for change is essential.
41:34 ๐ผ Unmet needs from childhood may affect relationships, seeking fulfillment from partners.
44:14 ๐ Leadership styles in relationships vary, understanding desired leadership style is crucial.
45:46 ๐ Conditioned beliefs about men can hinder trust in relationships, impacting the ability to accept leadership.
49:42 ๐ Lack of honesty about polygamous tendencies in men leads to relationship misunderstandings.
54:29 ๐ Cultural differences influence perceptions of relationships and gender roles.
55:11 ๐คฏ Fetishization of race can lead to degrading behavior within interracial relationships.
MONEY AND SEX IS A M.F.
Love u โค Dr Umar! And men alike! Your voice is very needed in this world ๐
Great discussion! The only problem I have is that this piece of gem has multiple facets, explained with complexity, that the average ray-ray out there watching this clip, will get lost in just few minutes. If this kind of information is intended to impact our community at large, it should be communicated effectively. If not, it is just a mere activity meant to past time.
I AM so Delighted to witness Dr. Umar speaking and leading this way โฆ.Much Respect ๐
Then why when you try to explain how you feel, the male gets defensive.?
Umar whew we need more brothers like you โคโคโคโคโค
So true most men get โbitchy โ when women express their pain /concern in the relationship.men are too dang sensitive canโt handle a dang thing anymore!!!
That man grown, grown. If you dont use your gifts god will use someone else. Alike's attract
Gender roles donโt go back to the beginning of time itโs a construct โฆ.as he said before !!! As well as love !! Itโs a construct. There is truth in what heโs saying but you have to walk the walk not just talk the talk.
If Black men accepted "provide and protect" as a G-d given dictate rather than a woman given dictate they would fare better. If our pursuits are accepted as Divine, we will understand that includes fighting the schemes of "the white man" who has become god for too many of us. Dr. Naim said, many moons ago, as long as black men send their women to work for white men-they won't get her respect.
KS will always be superior to this guy
Dr. Umar panders too much. He sounds good but doesnโt practice what he preaches. His BM also a ex stripper. Not taking advice from this guy
@candaceowens
living with a man for 2 years? poor advice
Men, Listen to this man. The discussion is brilliant and intellectual. Needs to be broken down do's and don'ts for a lot of folks. The does and don'ts is what makes culture
Why is Dr Umar blaming black men for black women wearing wigs, dressing like whores and getting BBLs? They are grown and making their own choices for their own ambitions.
I respect the interviews and what you all are doing
Blessings!!!! Grateful to have come across this platform
To the point live it ,stamp my approval on this discussion.
He makes a lot of sense relative to the subject under discussion. He's a voice to reason out.
He would have more followers if he wasn't an extremist.
Time to REFORM ๐งฌ INSPIRATION
Trust me alot of people would never ever want to end conditions
Ever
@54:45โ 57:00 is a MUST listen!!!!!!!
Dr.Umar is my therapy. He makes me think and be aware.
๐คฏ
Dr. Umar how come you don't have a wife ?
What a BLESSING to hear intellectual Wise Black men speak , if a man has relations outside of the marriage that's between him and God ,because at the end whoever lived in sin will be judged by Father God so the faithful spouse is blessed and saved to eternal life๐๐พ๐and you can live together and be abstained from sex ๐ช๐พDr Umar please have a session about Emeshed adults with their families.
Umar Afrakan garb is very nice.
He is not lying. Harsh reality.
they took the industrial jobs and replaced it with hiphop.
This man is crazy. He can barely pronounce polygamy let alone speak on it. Laughing all the way to the bank with his pagan philosophies.
powerful message
