This is very true. I know a lot of dark skin black men from Pastors, to rappers, to every day brothas who have insecurities about being dark skin. They pursue, date and marry light skin women or women outside of their race because it makes them feel better about themselves. They feel if they're dark skin, dating a dark skin black woman is "too much blackness." Dark skin black men don't want dark skin kids.

This is so true. As a Carmel woman I felt like the super light skin women and the dark skin women got it the worse. Because I was in the middle I didn’t receive trauma about my skin color. This is 100% true

It's what social media describes being beautiful. Young, white or light skin black with long hair, light eyes and slim nose and body. European features are displayed as beautiful. If you go to the dog pound and you see 2 pit bulls, one young albino with blue eyes or you would buy the old black or the typical brindle one. Which would you pick?.

As an artist who paints women I had an interesting wake up: I had to change my definition of beauty depending who was on the model stand. It was really like adjusting the lens. "Oh, yeah, that's her kind of beautiful. I'm not talking about ignoring a crooked nose (although that's important) I mean seeing how her origin built her with a particular aesthetic. You expect a Swedish woman to have wave straight light hair. You expect a southern African woman to have hair that is bouncy and fun. Look at a fashion magazine and you now see the range of beautiful ideals (most women never could or should meet.) They're all beautiful, but teach yourself to see it. But here's another thing, a deeper thing, are you looking for a woman or some kind of human bling to hang on your arm and make another man hate you, you're so lucky? Maybe back off on using another human for your own thing. Last mic drop: teach your kids to respect the rainbow. What goes around…

I finally gave up the struggle and allowed myself to look beyond black men. I got married within 5 months to the most amazing man. It breaks my heart to know my fellow dark skinned women may never experience what it’s like to be loved, cherished and adored by a man that sees pure beauty when he looks at you. Happiness is a choice.

I believe men in general love light or fair skinned women with blue or green eyes, and blonde hair. Let's include Koreans, Hispanic,Native American, other Asiatic groups, and Arabic men want fair or light skinned men. I've seen it, and I've been told by men who prefer light/fair skin.
