Dr. Umar Goes Off On Rappers For Defending Eminem: DJ Khaled & Eminem Can Never Be GOATs In Hip-Hop.

There's a difference between the reactions between his challenge of Eminem and Beyonce's country music album. Eminem has been producing hip hop for decades under the guidance and protection of hip hops biggest producer Dr Dre. As a result, the culture of hip hop has had both the time and the conditions to challenge him and to settle with the idea of him being accepted within the community. He has grown an incredible fan base and stuck to his vision of hip hop throughout the entire time. Beyonce decided to make a country music album, and part of that motivation was because it is effing hard for women of any color, including white, to break into the country music culture. So when she did it, it was like she was slapping a huge dick down and saying, "What?" These two situations are simply not the same. Of course people are going to resist anyone trying to force themselves upon them. Especially from a top-down approach.

I disagree with the black and whiteness of his last statement. We did accept black people into basketball, which was not created on a plantation, but by a white Canadian in Massachusetts in the late 1800s. And there was resistance to that. As a matter of fact, baseball, football had similar stories. The blending of our cultures has been a tumultuous one. But I find it hard to hear someone slam a culture for not allowing the mixture from behind a door that he himself is holding fast.
