Frankel, it's not a culture, most come from experience. Personal experiences,my father and mother had separately lot. I remember my father asked my mother to put her money toward his own house first then later he would put money to her house. My mom agreed and spend time to supervise the completion of his house. My father had two wifies. Guess who own, the house today? My mom was unable to build her own house because Dad did not have money. I don't mind building with a man , but I will back my self investment with legal documents.

They monetize on our refusal to love ourselves first and build resources to protect ourselves at the exclusion of others like they do. They include only when they have built for their own for at least 6 generations then they allow others to come in and work for them. Like mexicans and arabs.

Dominating a market to oppress a group and limit access to resources to maintain power over the distribution of those resources is the very definition of racism. We are always confusing bias with racism.

Depends on the type of woman you married. Some or most women get easily satisfied and relax when they know there is MONEY somewhere. Telling someone that have never touched $5000 that you have $140,000 stacked away somewhere is a recipe for sending them to unending multiple yearly vacations to bora bora or anquila thinking she now has a "rich" husband. Or at worse she will refuse to work or deliberately cut her hours. I will eventually tell her but from my experience some or a lot of women mature emotionally and financially when they hit 40s and 50s. Till then I am keeping my secret stacks and portfolios to myself.

AMEN…Phrankleen. Unfortunately, with couples that allow family/friends to infiltrate their union, you can't win for losing and yet you certainly don't win by staying stagnant or too content knowing you're not satisfied. Men/husbands are either "not doing enough" or indirectly, his extended family becomes his priority. Women/wives are accused of "trying to wear the pants" or accused of being opportunist or golddiggers or a combination of "never satisfied" and "wanting too much".

Her mother taught her wrong. What she should have told her is these are character traits you should avoid when picking a life mate, not painting a broad brush on men.
Alot of our parents are broken people and because of the biological and emotional connection toxic info is easily passed and embraced.
One has to be wise in their own right and have a health dose of discernment.
$130k can go a long way if invested and managed well as a family, this is how families build wealth to pass on.

Phrankleen, you nailed as always. Group economics make a big difference. The Chinese, Indians, Koreans, Jews have these concept nailed down. The Asians own most of the fast food, laundromat, gas station, liquor stores and alternative food markets, nail salon in African American neighborhoods. We have no problem as a people spending our money on them. But if you flip the script, you rarely see an Asian person eating at an African restaurant. Chris Rock did a whole movie on Black hair, it was fascinating. We as a people are do enamored with showing out on things we can barely pronounce that we have zero ownership of. It’s a shame and we need to do better.

Only my advice for husband and wife is they should build houses and bis together with their names together because if the man died the woman will use those property to care for the children but if wife died first the husband will use those property to another women and the children will start suffering .

Relationships can always go sour. This possibility is always there and we cannot just ignore it. I personally think there should be plans in place to fairly settle matters where this is the case. There is always a fair way to go about it devoid of malice.

I once went to a Jamaican restaurant at Woolworth road and I can tell you I could not believe what the server said to the gentleman that was being served in front of me. The lady told the customer " that you are not a baby and suppose to manage it without spiling", just because he politely ask if the custard will not spill. I can tell you never would I ever step foot in that restaurant again. As a matter of fact, if I had not paid I would have walked out.
I would never spend my hard earn money on a rude business owner/staff. Notwithstanding, I will always endeavour to spend my money in black-owned businesses but not patronise the rude ones.

Once again you are touching some real social issues within our community. If a relationship has no more life left and the people in it don't want to try anymore, it may be best they agree to bring it to an end. Its too tasking living with someone you don't want to be with for economic reasons. A husband and wife should be working together to build for themselves and their children not competing or trying to get one up on each other.

Exactly that is the word for it “selfish”.
We don’t want each others to grow. Imagine i and a lady plan to meet each others at China which i have been going for years.
I deliberately told her the products that i will love her to put me through when we get there before we leave UK to china. On getting to China she totally change i try by best to pretend and ignore not seeing her attitudes towards me but just because she didn’t want me to know where she buys her product. I insisted going with her. We took taxi together on getting to the market she disappeared .
Omo mo find my way ara mi out of the market and proceed to buy what i usually buy jaaree.
