“Don’t Know How Effective It’s Going To Be” | Italy-Albania Migrant Deal

The UK has shown “great interest” in Italy’s migration deal with Albania, Giorgia Meloni said, as Sir Keir Starmer claimed his Government would make a return to “British pragmatism” on border control.

The Italian premier also brushed aside humanitarian concerns about the agreement as “completely groundless” while the British…

  1. its like you keep throwing seed on the ground and the pigeons come and to stop them you throw more seed on the ground rather than not give them seed making them not come here. oh and the seeds you are using are to feed your family now they will have less this winter

  2. The british government after demonized few thousands of albanian immigrants and blamed them for all the problems in UK, now they want a deal with Albania by sending african immigrants there ? Haha

  3. Albania would never sign a deal with the UK, not after you tarnished the Albanian reputation 2 years ago. We sign it with Italy because they are our brothers, we have historical ties with them and we want to help whenever we can to a brotherly state.
I wouldn’t call the UK a brotherly state, hardly anyone would.

  4. Sounds like a merry go 'round and will result in no one being sent back in the end because of their rights.

We'll still be having this conversation 10 years from now. Anyone willing to bet on it?

  5. I don't think there is going to be an Albania migrant deal, or any deal with another country. Basically money.

If we have an excess of claimants (thank you Tories), processing them offshore is far more expensive. Much cheaper to process them here. Much cheaper.

So it makes far more sense to increase capacity here, and I think that is what Starmer will do. That takes a bit of time but will inevitably begin reducing the problem. But it does not deal with the boats and there is but one way to deal with those and that is to provide safe routes which were taken away (thank you Tories). No need for risky and fatal channel crossings and less opportunity for trafficking.

Why did Starmer visit Italy? To see how others deal with similar situations I would think. If you go back a bit you may remember it was talking to 'terrorists' that brought about the Good Friday Agreement that has seen peace in Northern Ireland since. You find out what others are doing and how they are doing it. If you have any sense.

  6. It will do nothing to stop them, Starmer has to get some guts and turn the boats back to France, we are being ignored regarding these illegals. Do we have to demonstrate around number 10, and every Labour ministers office,
