I am a Zulu woman myself and Pearl is clearly talking out of jealousy because the whole "Lobola" ceremony is a Union between man and wife. Those rituals that she is talking about take place in a series during the ceremony as a whole that is why after the "Lobola" ceremony is complete you are legally married that is a fact! Alot of people in KwaZulu-Natal have a "Wedding" or "Wedding day" even years after because "Lobola " is a Matrimony which means a state of being a married couple and voluntarily joined for life til divorce or death. So this a very jealous and toxic friend!
