Cleo gave a very biased view. Amapiano is not the most dominant genre in all provinces (eg: KZN, EC , WC and Limpopo AmaPiano is not the dominant genre )… and if AmaPiano are the biggest surely they should dominate anything that has to do with voting as they have more resources than genres like Maskandi and Limpopo music. He knows it himself that if it was based on voting Gucci would still have easily won ..SABC tried united voting system years back and which ever song won in Ukhozi fm won the entire thing …

This is political, musically of you Cleo. A song of the year should be selected based on local performance. Radio Zulu and maskandi is based in KZN and is popular in KZN. They know which song dominated their air waves. Whether Cleo in Gauteng knows it, that's not the point. It's known maskandi is a Zulu genre and is getting more popular in spaces where it wasn't even played. Amapiano shouldn't be exaggerated to compress maskandi popularity in KZN and other provinces. Gucci deserved to win the song of the year in a KZN based radio station.
