    Like Dr. Perez…
I’ve felt that way as a black nurse 🥲 feeling that I needed to step up step in and compensate for the attitude and/or behavior of my white counterparts.
It’s stressful to say the least.

The flip is I’ve had black patients feel surprised 😲 or relieved to see someone in healthcare that looked like them.

Yesssss Dr. Perez. I’ve worked as an oncology nurse for many years and the disparity in cancer care is undeniable. So sorry for your loss and your friend’s family loss.
May God grant them peace and comfort.

This is a good and necessary conversation especially as a black healthcare provider although sometimes it seems more like health (no care)

    Thank you 🙏🏽 ladies!

  3. Absolutely Lucille 🎉 There has to be something on that shopping list that is specifically for YOU 🌟 A massage or proactive self care should not be categorised as an extra 👏🏾
