Unconditional love is real. But you must possess it for self 1st. How it's shown for others is conditional.
Baby boomers introduced transactional love. It went generational with the millennials. In order for someone to love something unconditionally the lover must have a strong sense of duty to something outside of one’s self. That concept is not practiced in modern people and current generations in large numbers. The only duty most people have is to their own personal joy and fulfillment
