LMAO, what shameless propaganda. This mosque was built by the French in 1909, as a replacement for a single story mud brick structure the locals had built. It's not "a magnificent example of Sudano-Sahelian architecture", because there's no such thing as "Sudano-Sahelian architecture". The French came up with the style themselves on the fly. We really need to stop creating historical fiction simply to make certain demographics feel good.
