Dricus is the drunken master of MMA. He has a terrible style but he gets the job done every time. However, somewhere out there in South Africa, the now retired Gareth 'Soldier Boy' McClennan must be wondering why he did not make it to the UFC instead of Dricus. Gareth choked out Dricus in the latter's fifth pro fight but yet it was Dricus who went on to become a super star and not Gareth. Weird!
If you say his style is goofy, awkward, no technique, no talent, I have absolute ZERO respect for you coming from a South African. He is precise, his technique is extremely technical, he has MASSIVE talent and he has perfected his style his whole life to beat anyone who stands in his way. I’ve always liked Dana White, so it’s really disappointing to hear him show this kind of disrespect to an articulate, well-mannered and deserving champion that is DDP…. Especially directly after what was a show-stopping title defense.
