Customer Tries To Sell Me Fake Gold Watches & Prince Saves Me

This week a customer comes in with an assortment of things trying to sell us and everything isn’t what it looks like. Im not sure if he knew what he had wasn’t real or if he didn’t know and was just as shocked as we were. Two of the piece look so good we almost get fooled if it wasn’t for our gold buyer that just so happened to be in the shop…

  1. Old pocket watches yup, the markings can be tricky. If you google "champion 14k" that means gold filled. Gotta pay attention to odd wording. I've dealt with a lot of them.

  2. Do ya think just maybe a one in million chance micro film metal from the file rub off on the watch gold filing that much and it could be why it turned green from the slightest particle from the file. Fluke things have happened in the world. Just like when u use sos the metal rubs off in ur pans or sink or tub and leaves greyish streak's. Maybe the file left similar residue and made it come out green with the acid

  3. I'm glad that guy helped him out. Figure out that watch wasn't real cold, but I'll probably be like hey man mind your own business. I'm trying to do business.

  4. I GOT A MAJOR IDEA FOR YOU…
BRO PITCH THIS SHOW TO TUBI !!!!!
TUBI WOULD RUN YOU EPISODES THEN YOULL NEED ANOTHER STORE..
    LET ME KNOW…LOL…I ONLY WANT
    A SMALL FEE OF APPRECIATION!!!!!😂😂

  5. Man, i worked at a pawn shop for 2.5 years, Cash America, and the file he used and his "technique " are all wrong!! Use a SMALL Triangular file, and only push out, dont push and pull going in 2 directions so loose and fast! You'll have control of a SMALL but deep area you're trying to get to, instead of scratching it all to hell in case its not real and dude wants to keep it afterward. He basically destroyed it because he didn't have good control of the file! Crazy man. And taking the bezel apart on the floor??! Wth was that?!! Ya'll dudes are cowboys

I actually learned a lot working there. We had to take half a dozen mandatory classes in gemology, diamond/ moissanite identification, precious metals authentication, firearm knowledge, watch authentication. The classes were pretty good too, we got paid to learn different diamond grades, or test various metals and gold for its carat weight for a 4 or 6 hour work day. And they'd have all types of fakes, some that were actually really good. I dont use it now as an industrial electrician, but it was definitely fascinating. That company was actually pretty good when i worked there, but when i went by a store 10 years later, that place was kind of a dump. I guess management makes the difference

  6. It is very rare that you will fine a real 14k pocket watch. I file everything I buy now have for last 4 or 5 years, even Jewelry pcs marked Sterling gets tested now, since I discovered the hard way, that you can't trust a good looking Vintage Sterling Mark as they are faking the crap out of them! I've bought and used more acid for testing in the last 5 years than I have 42 years of business! Love watching your video's.

  7. I like the way you treat the customers. I’ve had bad experiences with pawn shops. Most the time they will treat you like crap or try to rip you off but you seem to be very reasonable and respectful.

  8. Those testers are very neat. 20000 dollars neat. I don't know enough about those guns, but if they use x-ray, it is probably a bad idea to handle the gold every time you use it. You are dosing the bajesus out of yourself with radiation.
