  1. Lol Ghana is funny, can u imagine charging people to death by hanging with this useless case. A blacksmith with local pistols? 😂😂😂 Akuffo addo government.

  2. Those who do not obey our constitution has no right to sentence others to death based on the same constitution. The supreme judge is watching!

  3. Isn't it strange how we keep hearing of coup whenever we close to an election year under this particular administration? It's only under such incomptence leadership we will hear of such strange news , instead of focusing on improving the livelihood of the citizens this is what they have resorted to

  4. I'm shocked to learn Ghana had death penalty. So they don't sentence serial killers to death but coup plotters are sentenced to death that shows you how corrupt the system is.

  5. A lot of the comments here would have been different if Nana Akuffo Addo is a relative of the commentators. Please let us appreciate the issue beyond our political lense and ask ourselves what if they (the coup plotters) succeeded?. It's sad but I think we should learn from this than vilifying and denigrating the judgement.

  6. If this case is found to be true, honestly the perpetrators of the failed coup have to be sentenced to the maximum of the law. This will discourage any others persons who have in mind a way of accessing to power. Ghana went through that culture of coup d'etat years after years and has suffered a lot.

Please guys, you don't like a President, punish him through your votes during presidential elections.

  7. So you want to overthrow a government and you had your guns locally manufactured – which is illegal, and then you chose a government military shooting range in public place at Teshie to test it?
Hmm, a very wild allegation though.

  8. Has Ghana dealth with those involved in Coup plotting properly at all?

Nana Addo's father was part of those who overthrew Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and became a one-year ceremonial president history teaches us. How was he dealt with?

Questions on my mind; just thinking aloud.

1-Is this the reason Nana Addo, a Human Rights lawyer refused to sign into law the removal of Death Sentence sent to his desk after Parliament unanimously voted to remove it, which even became a grudge between the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Bagbin? May be he was waiting for this decision first?

2-Is it the reason the Major General came out recently to state to the public that he is from the Armor, something that is public information and not a characteristic of a general of that calibre to do, and announcing that he cannot be penetrated, and will not die after being told by some soldiers that his picture was sent to shrines for juju? Hope the tax payers money I'd not being used to investigate Juju issues.

3- Is it the reason the same Major General is now appointed the CDS of the military, and announced at the same time the sentencing?

4-Was the Judiciary in continuos talks with the presidency/Executive during the trial to the date of sentencing, and did the presidency know it was definitely going to be a Death Sentence and those standing trial will definitely be guilty?

    Just asking.

  9. WHAT THEN HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO HAVE CHOPPED OUR OVER $1 TRILLION AND OIL REVENUE MONIES. ? THEY SHALL SOON PAY FOR ALL THAT. GHANAIANS. GBODZIDI SIA.

  10. Ghana military is people don’t think at all. Their generation will suffer like our generation if they don’t take action to let the president do the right thing to make the economy work properly

  11. Of course there must be appeal. Akufo Addo and his cronies led demonstrations during other regimes and nobody accused them of engineering coups because those regimes were democratic regimes! African leaders need to explore what is in their leaderships which give rise to coup plotting/coup staging against their leaderships. Ghana is a very sad place today!

  12. Ignorant people will be shouting. The death penalty still exists not only in Ghana but globally. Coup will and must never be entertained whether the idea is fomented as a joke or with seriousness!

  13. 😳🫣Such theartrical drama. This appears more of a govt staged legal circus stunt. Soon the president might turn around to say that he has pardoned them just to hype the masses and score cheap political points.

This is a govt "propaganda" charade, comic relief ploy, concert party scheme, and nonsensical theatrical drama agenda to get into the good books of the citizenry/populace after an abysmal and appalling governance and national administration. Such a clear and open "eyewash" that didn't/wouldn't wash any eyes clean or clear. 💥

  14. IF YOU COMMIT GRAVIOUS OFFENCES YOU MUST PAY FOR IT. VOLTARIANS MUST DESIST FROM THIS HATRED IN THEIR HEARTS, THE INTOLERANCE AND THEIR SELF CONCEITING BEHAVIOUR. GHANA IS FOR ALL OF US AND NOT ONLY EWES. WHEN NDC WAS IN POWER, NO ASHANTI TOOK THE LAW INTO THEIR HANDS, EVEN THOUGH THEY ALL SUFFERED UNDER NDC BUT KEPT COOL AND VOTED AGAINST THE GOVT. BUT WHEN NDC IS OUT OF POWER, VOLTARIANS WANTS TO TOPPLE GOVT AND INSTATE THEIR CHOICE. IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT. I HOPE THE PRESIDENT REDUCES THEIR SENTENCES BY PARDONING THEM OVER THE DEATH PENALTY, TO YEARS OF SENTENCES.
