Oh my goodness. We do make the veggies the same way in Kenya, inmy tribe(luo). We don't mix it with meat though. We call the black eyed peas leaves "alot bo" and the jute leaves "apoth". The preparation is the same🙂
Very educative video. I didn't know that baking soda is an alternative to our locally produced kombo. Twice now l have used it for cooking nyete. And in fact it's my first time to grow and eat nyete in the US. Joy, you need to find a way of exporting very, very organic South Sudanese produce to the US. Thanks you.
Can you dry jude leaves for sale??
Hello
My nephew's favourite South Sudanese dish. Yummy 😋
The health and nutrition details plus all of the variations in cooking with or without meat was useful, thanks👍🏼 The excellent editing is much appreciated too, but next time please give us samples🙏🏼😄
I am hungry…Thank you Joy!
Joy, I don't add Meat to my 'Nyete'. Also, I filter my orginal Bicarbonate of soda since it's full of dirt. Otherwise I use the modern (white) Packaged Bicarbonate of soda. Also, you can enjoy 'Nyete' with Sweet Potatoes, Cooked Millet Bread, Cooked Corn meal(Ugali or Posho), Fufu or Boiled Cassava.
