  1. Made his move with 300 to go at the trials, waited until 70 to go in Paris, but when he makes his move, nobody this year has had an answer. Kids on track teams all over the country are going to be modeling their races after his

  2. Marvelous preview of what happened in Paris; just need to photoshop in the Brit (2nd) and Norwegian (4th) into this 1-2-3 at the trials (1-3-5 in Paris). Congratulations to this outstanding trio! Cole, your kick had us going so crazy that the dogs were worried. ; )

  3. The mile was always a fun race. I can remember practicing it regularly in high school. To imagine anyone doing it at that speed is insane. The Summer Olympics to a certain extent brings back childhood memories for most everyone. We’ve all ran races before, albeit runnning, swimming, cycling so there is a connection with beautiful 4-year spectacle.

  4. So why don't we just stagger for a whole lap or something? I'm tired of seeing so much unnecessary contact that could be avoided with a different race layout. Some of these runners are in other events and are legitimately risking their trip to Paris over injury, others are just unlucky. I get that these races are longer and we can't have as many semis, heats, etc, but surely a new approach needs to be evaluated.

It's like the same thing with pacers at Diamond League events, we already have a big light that flashes beside the track, why do we need 3 people up there to pace the runners.

Track running has become more and more game-ified beyond the running. Non-track races feel more like pure running while this is like…. contact running. Does anybody think that a time-trial type of race format would be interesting (just stirring the pot here), where you send out waves of runners every 8 seconds and you have to win on time, not by…. shouldering out the runner next to you.

  5. I’ve been watching Cole Hocker for the last four years and always amazed at his final 150 when he sprints in this was absolutely perfect. He does have a chance to win the Olympics, but we’ll see what happens time. There’s a few good guys in the Europe there good job Cole, I’ve been a fan of your kick. Smart race.
