NAME OF POEM: "SAY THEIR NAMES "
Say Their name!: Terence Crutches,
A 40 year old black man, who was unarmed, so clearly not a threat, yet in still, he was shot and killed while his hands were raised in the air.
A day burned into our minds, A day we will never forget.
His crime?, I did the research and the only thing I found was he was he was a Black man standing in the street because his car broke down.
Say their name!: Alton Sterling was a Black man shot in 2016, He was murdered by cops selling CDs. This man was shot 6 times after cops threatened to shoot him in the head!
92 seconds later, another black man, for no reason lay dead.
Say their name!: Stephen Clark. A 22 year old black man that was shot 8 times, 6 times in his back, but cops say he was charging at them and they were under attack.
In fact, the cops say when they yelled for Stephan to show them his hands, a gun is what they saw shown. But in reality all he had was a cellphone!
When it was proven the cops were not justified to shoot, we could see their body cam but the cops put their audio on mute!
Say their name! : Charles Kinsey.
A 47 year old black man who was shot while trying to help his patient with autism, another black man shot while his hands were raised in the air, another black man a victim of racism!
When Charles Kinsey asked
"Why did you shoot me, my hands were raised high", the answer will make your anger grow! The cop looked at Kinsey and said
"I just Don't know "
Say their name! : Micheal Brown.
Officers continue to shoot while chasing Michael Brown while his hands were up to surrender, the cops did not stop shooting until Micheal Brown goes down to the ground!
Say their name! Trayvon Martin.
A young black unarmed teen who had a bag of skittles and some ice Tea. When Zimmerman told police, as a neighbor hood watch, he was following Martin, police replied, don't do that, we don't agree.
Zimmerman told police, this kid was walking with a hood, he said Martin looked liked he was on drugs and up to no Good!
Trayvon Martin was murdered for no reason, other than Zimmerman took Martin's skittles for a weapon.
Zimmerman claimed he was standing his ground because he thought his life was being threatened!
Another black child gunned down because the color of his skin was a threat.
Another black life lose because cops don't realize Black Lives do Matter Yet!
Say their name!: GEORGE FLOYD.
A black man who was struggling to breathe as a white cop crushed Floyds neck.
George FLOYD was hand cuffed as he cried out to his mother who is no longer with us, And now we cry for George FLOYD screaming, no justice no peace!
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
George FLOYD cried out to the cops
Please! I CAN'T BREATHE!
as 4 officers just looked on, not one telling the cop to stop pressing on Floyds neck with his knee!
As that cop knelt on FLOYD's neck, he was sending us a message in a clear dialogue.
He told us he may not be able to hang blacks anymore,
But they can still kill us in public like dogs!
8:46 was our alarm clock going off and trust me, this is not a drill or a joke,
Because this time, we didn't just wake up, We are now WOKE!
"WE WHO BELIEVE IN FREEDOM WILL NOT REST UNTIL IT COMES "
I heard this while watching a show on the Black struggle from way before my time,
When they Marched for their right
to be treated as Human Being's,
And not like the color of their skin was a Crime!
I'm screaming for our right to be able to walk down the street and not be shot on site!
I'm screaming for equality, for the people who are in poverty simply for the color of their skin, we too have Rights!
I'm screaming for us not to be treated unfairly and our black Father's and brothers can be treated like men!
I'm screaming so we can stand shoulder to shoulder and one day our skin color to whites will not offend!
Voices were silenced, for reason's we are forced to comprehend. Through our protest we speak, so their memories will never end!
SO with your fist in the air you SAY THEIR NAMES!
