Am i the only one listen to it in mono?
"I love plugins" bro himself cooks those plugins lol
Why not just arm a track in Pro tools to record his own voice? Why the phone that then needs to be transferred onto the mac? Genuinely curious..
He is just stressing too much😂
I love videos showing artists creating! It’s super interesting as a musician and creator

Ben!!!!!!
All that for it to sound like an absolutely mundane mid Marshmallow ash sh*fest. If this is what "world class audio" sounds like I don't want any part of it.
What DAW he is using?
❤🇲🇲
I need Jon Bellion and Charlie Puth to team up on a song one day
He's got dat iPhone preamp
The amount of PT disdain in here is astounding. 😅 You people clearly have no idea how to use it, therefore claim anything else superior… Hilarious.
Well, that's one way to do it. But if you want something to sound more "humanized," just play it. Manipulating it will never give you the real feel you're trying to get. Same with drums… Just get a drummer. And a real pocket is not something you can create by editing. You need real players, playing in real time who have already have a great groove. Call Nate Morton and Nathan East (or any great rhythm combo that you've got access to there), much faster, sounds better, no fake grooves and then build around that foundation. As a 40 year studio guy, I can tell you that's the way we've always done it and sliding stuff will never come close. But thanks for sharing your process.
Such a perfectionist, yet goes and records into his shitty phone mic.Yeah okay.
shitty music
Learning from a guy who only have 1 no. Which is a feature
thinking of making a video to highlight everything the instructors didn’t talk about in this video… would anybody be interested in that? not sure that these tips captured all the value from charlie’s session 🤔
He spitting facts
I love plugin
thumbs up for the sweetwater candy on his desk to keep it relatable 😆
There is genuinely nothing I've not heard 1000x before in this video – the guy narrating going on like this is groundbreaking, never seen before production techniques 😂😂
Is it me or the audio in this video is in mono
can't believe the casual recording vocals with his phone! :0
All this is just over the top. Sing a song from the heart with a few instruments. This is just so lame on so many levels.
Dude makes this way harder than it is.
Takes a lot of time and care? Wastes a lot of time through using a DAW not suited to his needs. Absolutely zero point in bouncing it to audio. Want a fade, adjust your asdr envelope. Not to mention missing zero crossings and needing to crossfade. This guy might have the songs in his head to make the big bucks but he has a very arse about tits way of getting it to the computer. Really long winded fuck on. I really don't recommend beginners taking advice from this. It's overcomplicating simple tasks.
Wow thanks for the tips
So I'm pretty sure I might have to try what Charlie does with the waves because the midi being so blocky and solid makes it so unnatural for me. I wonder if switching would help me with that. I used to work with Audacity in highschool and it felt natural. Working with the midi dots and bars just feels so robotic.😢
But… he has NO number one songs as a solo artist.
Bro why did you lick like that at 12:47 o_____o
Seriously, I do all that using garageband on my iPad and get brilliant results. Obviously he'll have better compressors and a few other luxuries using Pro tools but if you've got the ideas and melodies in your head you can pretty much use the bare essentials and come up with something inspiring…..I know that because I've proven it to my self.
I guess the main lesson here is to have confidence to play around
Pretty shyte
I like how Charlie seems pretty down to earth. He's like "idk how you're supposed to do it, but this is what I do" and honestly, that's pretty encouraging. When you can get past the idea that there's special gear or plugins or industry secrets to make good music, you can start to lean on the fact that its ultimately going to be the heart and quality of the song itself that determines its success.
At least, I think so. -Me, someone with no industry credits whatsoever.
Do these products go on sale? The price is high!
why yal hatin on the man process?
ignore everything taught here.
Does anybody know the name of the guitar plugin? Thanks.🙂👍🏿
I loved more the simple songs of Charlie like One Call Away and We Dont Talk Anymore… Without all of the autotune and background voices
What software is that?
