I would have thought it would be common knowledge amongst locals by now that the reason the Great Whites took of was because a family of Orcas moved in.
There is video footage of an Ocra attacking and killing a Great white to eat it's liver in False Bay, Cape Town. They tracked them relocating off the coast of Chile and America.
The bronze whalers have since replaced the Great Whites.
Good news for local swimmers and surfers but not so great for tourism I suppose.
I have heard one of the big reasons the Great White Sharks have left our shores is because of the Killer Whales that are killing them for their liver.
