The main thing that makes Hip-hop trend and boom worldwide is COMPETITION!
And that’s why there’s no Hip-hop in Cameroon cuz most of these guys just can’t maintain a healthy competition due to ego. Someone will prefer replying on X or FB to some stuff instead of going into the booth and produce replies in the form of tracks that can be relayed more and more consequently making Hip-hop boom in the country more.
It’s not witchcraft, people only listen to what you give them !
People need to understand that Jovi’s business model is that of an underground artist. How can you blame an artist for not « crossing borders » if you don’t even understand what his promotional objective is ? Jovi works with his niche. He is a conservative underground artist and he has ALWAYS been that way. He has his definite market which he targets.
I’m not necessarily on team Jovi but before analyzing an artistic project we should first of all understand the artistic direction the person tries to get to!
