I’ve been thinking about another podcast I saw where the instability in some of the Central American countries and they pointed out that the Biden administration isn’t doing enough to try to help that instability at the root. Of course the border also needs to be handled correctly. One of the countries has a leader that we helped get elected, I just forget which, is it Columbia? But it just seems logical that we could help in the region to find solutions so that so fewer people are funneling to our border. And then fixing the border problem, which hopefully the next administration jumps on, would be the other obvious solution. Mike, why do so few people talk about this? Could you give us some info about what if anything the US is doing to help, what could and should we be doing that could make a difference? It’s just like how Israel wants stability in their region. It’s just better for everyone in the long term, and I’m not just talking about giving aid; I’m talking about a political version of when we send cia or military advisors to help build military and special forces for other countries. We could help build THEM to build a solution, not doing it for them. I’d like to learn more about this and how it affects the border and how it influences and is influenced by the cartel activity and other organized crime.
