It's not mandatory it was a proposal that made the news.
You are 100% right
Ghana's fiscal space is not in a good place so it was quite obvious to me that something like this would be envisaged. The minister Dr Okoe Boye was also responsible in the airport COVID test scam and shamelessly came on media lying about the costs to implement it to try and justify as to why it was so expensive like we are all fools to not know that is was a money grab.. Here he is again with another policy to grab cash from those he knows have cash abroad as the locals cannot be taxed anymore because the just don't have it..The problem is it will not be seen to be making any improvements anywhere all it will do is plug some fiscal deficit somewhere to help balance Ghana's debts. I wait to hear him defend this policy in the media once it's implemented. I have zero respect for that guy as he will look u in the face and lie just to cover his back as to why it's necessary
This is just another money grab ! How much more Bs? Does this mean you have to take this in addition to your travel insurance?
If this is the case we will definitely have to evaluate if we should sell our investments in GH and go elsewhere, this won't fix the country or its problems and may even cause a reduction in visitors.
I wouldn't mine if the money was going into a pool to bring better affordable healthcare to ordinary Ghanaians or helping the rural economics but we all know that ot will go the same places that the Covid levies arw going 🤮🤮🤮🤔
Exactly. Government Healthcare facilities are very poor for ordinary Ghanaians. Fix that first. Last month, newborn babies died at Tema Hospital due to a power outage. A lady was dumped on the roadside by a hospital around Winneba and an emergency room in a government hospital around Nsawam area had a bad leaky roof.
How can you subject foreigners to use such Government hospitals?
Most foreigners already have travel medical insurance to use at private hospitals
This is money making scam again. Ask them if the members of government and their families pay health insurance when they go outside to seek healthcare.. 😂😢😂
Another money making scam!! An absolute disgrace
I agree 100%
Ghana’s government officials really think we are fools to help them line their pockets. Hell NO to SMALL SMALL! Bs health system without enough doctors. NO THANKS!
