  1. Sonny Curtis was never a member of the Crickets while Buddy lived. It was only after he died that Sonny became one together with Joe B. Mauldin, Jerry Allison and the new lead singer. Sonny had played with Buddy years before this and went to Nashville with him in 1956 where they recorded 13 songs including two versions of Rock Around With Ollie Vee and two of That'll Be The Day.

  2. This gives the impression that Sonny Curtis was a newcomer and late addition to the Crickets when in fact he had been playing on and off with Holly for several years and played lead guitar on the Nashville session, leaving Holly when he went on the road with Slim Whitman.
