  1. I can't stop laughing, sorry. This is better than Governor Abbot of Texas sending illegals NOT MIGRANT to New York and Chicago. I think these elephants should be sent to New York!

  2. Well, we talk of elephants at the verge of extinction in some parts of the world e.g Northern Cameroon; and Botswana's human-animal conflict due to the massive elephant population explosion which is disturbing humans in Botswana … There's no need to send 20,000 elephants to Germany. It's easy to sign bilateral ties with other African countries on the conservation of these elephants and send these elephants to such countries to be cared for. In this way, the elephant population in Botswana will be decongested, and other African countries will be blessed having these endangered species through bilateral ties and "endangered animal migration policies". In this regard, no western trophy policy, and no neocolonial exploitation will succeed on how the elephants are managed in Botswana. My humble take!

  3. On the one hand she's criticizing Europeans for shooting elephants, and at the same time she's criticizing Europeans for trying to stop this. How? Seems her main concern is making Europeans look bad.

  4. It was a prime example of the stupidity of our goverment. No knowledge but a lot of Morale. Make laws, inform later. This is when you reject every expert advice as evil lobbyism. 🇩🇪

  5. Elephants are highly destructive and have to be culled every year in order to keep down their numbers. Elephants breed well and require vast areas (hundreds of square kms per herd) for their normal feeding ground. This is a huge problem in Africa – keeping the numbers in balance. This is something the western world somehow refuses to come to terms we. We live here, we know the land, we know what we must do to keep it healthy. You – the western world DO NOT.

  6. I think that 20 thousand elephants are not enough, but at least 40 thousand. Green-minded Germans would love to protect those cute, harmless creatures in their backyard. Adopt an elephant could be a slogan for that protective beauty that weighs several tons and eats non-stop all day. Farmers would love them

  7. The reason why our elephant populations are out of control is because they migrate in large numbers from neighbouring countries where poaching is rife, to Botswana where 38% of the land is dedicated to wildlife conservation and therefore safer for animals. We are now having instances where elephants are found thousands of kilometers away from the areas where they were historically found. They are quickly outnumbering the area, which they have to share with orher species, and now moving towards areas occupied by humans, which are also limited as 80% of Botswana is covered by the Kgalagadi desert. We are doing our best, and if we could find a country to safely relocate excess numbers to, that would be an easy option.

  8. Any story today about Africa being mad at Europe is directly tied to Russian and China in Africa. African are in the midst of a resurgence in and confidence, but be very careful that you aren't being lead by the next generation of the thing you claim to be shedding.
