Seretse Khama was even better than he gets credit for here, because one of the first things that happened after he came to power was that they discovered a MASSIVE trove of resources directly underneath land owned by his own tribe, and instead of enriching himself and a small ethnic in-group, he immediately moved to ensure that the entire country would benefit from it equally. A lesser man would have given in to the temptation, but he genuinely cared more about his country and its future than himself. The man is a hero.
