Honestly, there are ALSO a lot of BW who don't know how to pick men. Because of our community's diminished knowledge of how to access and navigate certain socio-economic realities, we are the only community that doesn't train our children consistently on how to BE AND SELECT a mate from birth. We don't know the baseline of what to look for due to our acceptance of instability, misunderstanding of poverty, and inherent backward values as community norms. Good black men DO exist. The problem is they're too busy networking, building, staying HOME, sometimes working multiple jobs to be in common spaces. And most aren't single. I'm talking less than 1% of them total, not even considering wealth.
I remember going to certain business events and other activities and seeing black men in my city I've NEVER seen in my life. I'm Canadian so yeah, that means A LOT! These men are quiet, hard-working, avoid drama, and tend to keep à tight circle of similarly minded people. They protect their environment.

As a BM, I will never discount women’s experiences with BM because I’ve seen enough to know the validity of some of the negative claims y’all make about us. My only thing is this… majority of black women don’t even know what a MAN really is cause most of these dudes ain’t one and most of the real men are lowkey, have low tolerance for BS, quickly taken by a queen, or just undesirable to most women because of superficial reasons – so most of the impressions, encounters, experiences black women have had are faulty at best and shouldn’t be considered as a representation of what black men are. When we talk about the black man, we forget about the ones who put in work to even give us the freedom and privileges that we have now, the ones who invented stuff to make our lives more convenient till this day. It’s an uphill battle to find a good one but I encourage you ladies to expand your horizons and focus less on things like money, height, facial features, skin tone, cars, jobs etc and look at the man’s HEART, his grind, how he treats ppl, how he takes care of himself, his strength, his morals, his faith in God- things that really make a MAN !
