Why do people think it is unusual for someone of non black heritahe to go to an HBCU? HBCUs have great opportunities for black people that other minority groups have used before. The HBCU i went to there were Hispanics, Asians, middle easterns, and a few white people. People go to HBCUs for the opportunities that are there.

Jamaican is not a race. We are a nationality and the title doesn't automatically defer to the black population. That being said, her father is Jamaican of mixed heritage.
