  1. The below comment is about Africa, but the HDI (Human Developement Index) is rarely discussed by content creators but very important when you are relocating to any country… Find out what the HDI for your present country/city is then compare it with the place you want to relocate to in order to see how hard the transition will be for you.

South Africa presents an easier transition to Africa for African Americans compared to other Sub-Saharan countries. The HDI ( Human Development Index) for South Africa is the closest to America of Sub-Saharan African countries, which lessens the cultural shock and failure to adapt to your new environment.

The HDI for the United States is 0.890 as of 2021:

    South Africa 0.713

    Botswana 0.693

    Ghana 0.632

    Tanzania 0.549

    Gambia 0.500

    South Sudan 0.385

This is not to throw shade on our family in other black nations, just to inform other African Americans , Africa is not a country and not all places are the same. Some places will be more of a challenge which may lead them to leave Africa, because they came unprepared for what faced them. Also know each state in America has a different HDI ratings, so a person coming from a lower rural area in lets say Alabama, would have an easier time adapting to Gambia, than someone coming from New York with a higher state rating.

I have traveled to 27 countries around the world, and the HDI is usually spot on, and should be used by anyone considering a move to another country /continent. The closer you get to the HDI you are use to its always an easier transition.

  2. That's my favorite spot. I enjoy my meals with my 3 year old son right there at Ate@Design whenever I get the chance. Owner a business partner and friend of mine, very hospitable. Friendly stuff. Everything a restaurant should be.

  3. Ma (hard G) gudu.. Just tip the locals well, they are being nice for the American tips… 💁🏿‍♂️🍽️ Remember most people in africa can't afford those prices. 👈
