We must not forget that the Afrikaners/boers (english=farmers) lost the wars to the british, The Afrikaners and Blacks were interned at concentration camps, wiped out, farms burnt down (scorched earth policies) so that the British could take control of the gold and diamond mines. Boundaries were moved, Kimberley was annexed to the Cape. When the Afrikaner won the elections later on their was a worldwide move for apartheid(RSA)/segregation(USA) in the 1960's, and that is a legacy that was pushed by world powers to control the GOLD and Diamonds, Oils, etc…

The town looks underdeveloped…hardly any sidewalks, unkept lawns, lots of overgrown weeds, dirt roads, dirt parking lots, paved roads don't look maintained, etc. There seems to be a lack of towns people going about their everyday businesses, hardly any sign of life in residential neighborhoods. Being from the USA, this town looks similar to a polygamist town in northern Arizona (Colorado City)…a town with an eerie twist, a feel of a cultist community, like the town is hiding a secret. Visit Colorado City, AZ, you'll understand my observed similarity between the two communities (Orania and Colorado City).

It is very interesting. It seems that the Racism is not as bad as other places. They need to mix in with Blacks. They appear to be like Suntown in the US. There was a man saying he is going to College there and it does not matter the color of your skin it's just the Culture of Africa. Maybe Elon Musk built this town or had some part in it. 1:01:00 five hundred years ago that region would almost certainly have been uninhabited. Most likely there would have been no permanent inhabitants in that particular region. The image of the people shown are most likely of Khoi, San or Hottentot extraction who would been closer to coastal areas. Though, it is possible that the nomadic Khoi could have driven cattle through the area on the banks of the Orange river. Most of the black tribes currently known in South Africa would have migrated from the north of the African continent after the 17th century – i.e. after 1652

The old man who was on lawnmower, reminds of the parents in apartheid years, they are the once who taught their children that they are white and superior than black people. So basically they teach their children and grandchildren to be racists. I notice that not all young people like to be racists. No body is born resist, people are taught to be racists. God will Judge them about that because God created all of us different for the reason. That reason is for his glory. We diverse, different cultures . Can you imagine how boring it was going to be if we were the same color speak the same language?
Please visit one of the hundreds of black townships in South Africa. Then you can compare and have a balanced view. Your visit to Orania is valid, but please visit a black township to have insight in the bigger picture. But yes as an Afrikaner i do believe that we should stand together and uplift one another. If 90 000 teenagers fall pregnant a year in RSA then it break our hearts – colour does not matter. Our young people need guidance and role models. Not people trying to create a big fuss over a small white township, while there is also hundreds of Black and Indian townships in RSA. Why do you focus on the differences… let us rather unite and support all our young people in RSA.
