  1. Actually Harlem has not been historically a black neighborhood. The black people were simply its best known inhabitants because of their culture. Harlem is a majority Hispanic neighborhood now, and has been for some. It is a greatly mixed village actually, not a neighborhood.

  2. Uh! NOTICE THAT when talking about Harlem, Oklahoma(Black Wall Street) and other cities where African-Americans prospered, people like Candace forget to mention(for some bizarre reason) the destruction that white supremacy brought to those cities to prevent/stop black progress from becoming their competition.
The destruction of those black neighborhoods, plus what came after, was the beginning of the end for African-Americans, period.

  3. I would never go out into society if I had to dress up like that every time. Now I’m not talking about Walmart fashion, I just like to be comfortable and that looks anything but.

  4. That to me looks like when black and proud meant something totally different than it does today, black and proud looks like it didn’t mean white hating

  5. When people cared about each other , casual was the beginning of no more respect for yourself and others. Casual means CARE AS YOU WILL ! how selfish is that attitude? Just another bit of history, that tears down our strength.

  6. “Obviously it has always been a historically black neighborhood” — No, it became black during the Great Migration in the early 1900s. It was mostly Jewish and Italian immigrants in the late 1800s and the original Dutch and English inhabitants prior to that (1630s-1850s).

  7. Its weird she always bashes black people when in reality Every Race including whites live a life of Degeneracy and KKKandace wouldn't survive the 1930s with her big mouth not just as a black person but also as a woman . All Races today live a life of degeneracy.

  8. Harlem has not always been black. The word Harlem is from the Netherlands. Italians and Jewish people lived there but started moving out in the 1920s when blacks started moving in.

  9. Only thing I can say to this is yes it’s true… but you have to also take in the fact that there was zero gansta rap in America at that time and that’s what change. At that time music was elegant..more jazzy and most of the idols back then also dressed with class so we followed

  10. Looked better. Well behaved. Guess who was in charge and who wasn't. These people faught for equality and ended up with the chaos and mess we have today. Kinda tells you something. Finally given freedom and what did they (as a whole) do with it?
