I have not been a fan of Willy Paul other than liking a couple of his songs, but now I am. On Saturday, he earned my respect. He stood up for what he believed was his right and his fellow countrymen stood up with him. This is a guy who came out of the slams and made it on his own. I remember growing up despite having more toys, wealth etc , our parents thought us that that did not mean we did not matter. We were our best human beings in our own way. Yes, Diamonds is a good musician whose achievements cannot be compared with Willy Paul’s that is a fact. At the same time there are musicians who Diamond is a small ant in comparison so both bragging is cancelled. However what Willy Paul did on Saturday was way bigger than himself. He opened up a conversation that no one else had the guts to bring up the way he did it. Because of him the festival organizers will do better and for that I give Willy Paul his flowers and anything else is Noice!
