For a long time, I was sympathetic towards the Igbos cause in Biafra and their persistent desire for self-rule. We will never know how a Biafran nation would have turned out, despite Ojukwu's great vision.
But now, I'm less optimistic and don't think Biafra is viable. Why? Because if indigenous Igbo state governors of Igbo states have not been able to turn their states into developed and prosperous places in many decades of civilian self-rule despite the billions in federal allocations available to them yearly, then I'm doubtful about the prospects of an Igbo federation.
