The Land of Egypt belongs to the people in Ethiopia Somalia and Djibouti. The majority of People living in Egypt now don't even belong on the African continent just like the rest of the Arabs on African soil.
The Ethiopian army might not be as technologically advanced as Egypt but Egypt is NOT any Military powerhouse. They are FAR less intimidating than a China, Russia, or USA. They don't want a war with Ethiopia. Ethiopian soldiers are some of the most ruthless, patriotic, warriors in the world. It would be wise for both countries to avoid any military conflict. The only thing Ethiopia has to worry about is who will support the Egyptians,. If they the Saudis come in to play or another entity than Ethiopia has no choice but to surrender unless Ethiopia gets some foreign help as well. By then, it will more than likely be stalemate. The key thing is Ethiopia needs to have trustworthy allies in the world.
yayesh Workneh selfish in WHAT WAY?? Ethiopia is restricting water which is the equivalent to air..do you not get that? Ethiopia made the SELFISH decision to control such a vital natural resource. Ethiopia DOES NOT have a controlling right to the Nile river! Ethiopia has EQUAL right to the river alongside the other basin countries. Meaning one should NEVER have the RIGHT to do ANYTHING with the river so as long either (1) DOESN’T AFFECT other countries or (2) other countries ACCEPT the IMPACT. Everyone always highlights Egypt’s colonial agreement as being null and a display of selfishness but the truth of the matter is Egypt happens to be the last downstream country and the fact that there is even an agreement in place that hinders even a drop of water from its GOD given right is crazy. may GOD FORGIVE whoever agreed to that. The Nile is God’s gift to the countries of the basin. ALL of them. If it was ANY another country I would say the same. Ethiopia has a right to development. JUST NOT ON THE BACKS OF OTHER COUNTRIES.
This is not really an issue, but both countries can not reach into an agreement if the negotiations are focused on positions, rather actual interest, and i personally don't think that discussing war and asking a mutual friend to stir the pot would solve the actual problem.

The current Egyptian President Alsisi, is also facing the great corruption scandal and he thought the way out to shift this tension is directing the attention of the people to Ethiopian Great dame. These matters are supposed to be within the jurisdiction of the African Union. Rivers and lakes traversing borders or for that matter 'state-lines' are preserve of the African Union whose exclusive dictate, decide who does what with such natural resource(s).
