Battle for Pokrovsk: Russian makes advances to capture strategic town
Russian forces launched an offensive to capture the strategic town of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine in spring this year. As of yet They have failed to capture it so far, but have been making advances in the Donetsk region bringing them closer to the town.
Despite heavy losses, Russia is unlikely to abandon its offensive.

Man, you can really see the Russian astroturfing here. The Ukrainians have been defending this town for like 6 months, it's been a hard fought battle. If the Russians take it they take it, but it will be a pyrrhic victory. Their casualties and losses have been catastrophic. I don't understand how any Russians support this war, it's been the ruination of their country at a massive scale. They just lost all their presence in Syria as well. I guess they are hoping that Trump will cut off support for Ukraine, but it's hard to tell what that nutcase will do, and Trump does like winners. Putin may be taking territory but they are getting destroyed and their economy is in shambles. His weakness on the global political stage may make him a loser in Trump's eyes, and that stink may turn Trump's thoughts to making a Ukrainian victory his accomplishment.
Russian bots in the comments post the same thing over and over with little variation. Pathetic. The Ukrainians know full well the strategic value of the town try listening to them instead of being paid to be parrots. If it falls they will adjust and Putin will celebrate losing more people to take it than Russia's entire war on Afghanistan or Chechnya. There is no empathy in Russian trolls as there is none among Russians.
The western propaganda machines will come & tell us that it is a non strategic town when it finally falls to the Russians.

I feel so sorry for the citizens whos living there especially the old people. I can't understand why Zelenskyy keeps pushing his people to fight, loses and retreats. He knows his force cannot hold the Russians but he keeps feeding them to the meat grinder, to me that's an irresponsible leader who doesn't care for the lives of his people. Negotiate and save lives.
