  1. I am not sure why the hate toward this movie and the actress playing her, I think she looks very much like the real Amy, in any case not worse than any other actors who played the various Elvis (Austin Butler is hot and really good but his face features were not very similar to Elvis) Freddie Mercury, the guy who played him looked like Freddy when he put the teeth in but he was still much shorter and smaller than the real Freddy.
It would be impossible to find the exact same copy of an artist, vocal and all.
Give the Amy movie and the actress a break.

  2. If you're playing Amy and you arent getting nominated for an Academy Award, you didnt play it right. When it does get done right, it'll be a revelation of a performance. The way they train actors today, there isnt an actress in Hollywood and certainly not in any of the traditional collegiate acting conservatories that is going to pull off playing Amy with any effect…

  3. …. Personally I dunno that I’ll be sold on this one…..No disrespect to the effort of all the cast and crew etc obviously, but If you’ve been a fan of Amy’s music since ‘Frank’ dropped and followed to the sad end of her life, you’ll get that acting and glamorising is the complete antithesis to who Amy was. She just wanted to sing man. 😂 This feels a bit disjointed and one for the cash register

  4. Amy was a combination of cheekyness, naughtiness, sassy little smiles, annoyance, moodiness, and childlike honesty. Marisa Abela seems too flat in her portrayal, I see just sadness and depression. I’m sure Amy struggled with it too but she was multilayered and lively as well. The only one promising there, is Jack O’Connell, he’s great portraying bad boys, troubled characters.

  5. I think this is actually a good idea. Amy always wanted her story to be heard, and showing it through a film makes people more interested than reading a documentary about it.

  6. Many negative comments are dumping all over this and saying how much Amy would hate this or how the actress isn't any good. How about looking at it differently? Look at this as a way to get her story out there to people who don't know her? Maybe it will cause more people to be curious and do more digging to see all her videos, and listen to her music creating more appreciative fans. Maybe it could save some lives.

  7. Why didn’t the producers and casting director help the victim of this film instead of try to take an Oscar away from her! Amy dawson needs mental health treatment like Winehouse did, that’s the irony, these people have acted like animals preying on a Bpd victim
