THANK YOU for pronouncing Dionne's REAL last name correctly!!

@billiehanson1622

I went to elementary school in Detroit with his niece. Her name was Joyce Mathis and she had little pieces of bamboo in her pierced ears. This was unusual and fascinating in 1966!

@ElvieCaidic

I have always adored his songs even now that i am 69. Perhaps it was because his songs were the first ones that penetrated my consciousness being born in 1955. Love you Johnny!❤❤❤

@EligahMoten

Bob Dylan come on,!!

@klausrain111

❤my first serious girlfriend (in 1962, ninth grade) and I both loved Johnny Mathis. whether he was gay or not never occurred to us or anyone we knew. When Sunny Gets Blue was our favorite song. this was back before the word "gay" was in common usage.

@janiceknight1035

Everybody knew he was gay🙄🤷🏽‍♀️

That was thoughtful biography. Fans always knew about his being gay and decades ago keeping that private was what people did. I think for the sake of his career it may also have been necessary. I still listen to his music, there is still nothing like it!

@JY-cm9bc
