Apologies for John's wi-fi drop out and my 2 year old pod invader, that's live broadcasting I guess! Also, the references to 1874 were clearly tongue in cheek before any of you get any ideas…

John has made some excellent points in this one. What were we saying after the Chelsea game?? We've had a shocker against palace, but we were saying very different things quite literally one game ago. Let's keep the faith and keep pushing!! UTV

The least bit of pressure on Villa and it’s headless chicken time.

Surely Barkley, Onana, Pau, Cash are close to returning. Feels like Barkley, Onana been out forever.

If we could have rotated a little more, the competition for places, fatigue etc, we may have been better off. Pau, Kamara, Onana, Barkley, Cash, Bailey, Mings, Konsa, SJM have all been out for periods of time. Potentially for Cardiff, we could have as many as 8 players out.

Talk about signature wins, we've beaten Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Chelsea. Add to that had winning goals disallowed against Liverpool and Juventus. We can beat anyone at home. But we will not get Europe or win a trophy because its not done at home.

Form and our poor away record aside chaps, with the likes of Kamara and Torres back, new players fitness up to speed…. there will be an uptick in form. It is however a massive next 2 weeks with likely no injuries back. Keep the faith UTV

self inflected damage ,no excuses players on the bench who should have started ,then Bailey now he,s a wing back ! we don't deserve top flight football all season we've been witnessing poor performances , so why will it change now ! so its all been a mid table performance .

Hibs went from 1902-2016 without winning the Scottish Cup..and when they won it, they were in the 2nd divison.
Just saying. Improbable is not impossible. I still think Villa's best performances have been in the CL. Even if this season ends in relative disappointment.. Villa are still in a very good place with the owners and manager they have.

i still think this season can end positively.

bring dougie luiz back in a year or 2.

i love SJM but i would be surprised if next season he plays so regular. I wonder if, if this season can end with a trophy, he would move on.

We haven’t got a hope of winning the fa cup , we can’t defend, worse defence in the premiership!! I’d rather not be conference league the standard of football is shocking

If this season fizzles out to nothing (no Europe), serious questions will be asked by the owners. That is not in the script. Let’s face it, our league form has been bang average for 14 months. Our very creditable CL performance (so far) has been a huge sticking plaster.

Don't forget Emery has played European football for loads of years in a row, even got it the year he took over us, so he's got that record to protect. Could add to his annoyance along with the crap performances!

Cardiff has got the obvious huge potential of a banana skin but I hope that we see a positive reaction.

I predicted at the start of the season that we'd probably finish around 10th. I'm naturally pessimistic but I do think that we've been lucky that it's been such a bizarre season with certain teams dropping off. It's not over yet and we still have a chance but I can't really see it and the evidence so far suggests that.

That being said, I don't know why any fan wouldn't want us in Europe. It's important for the growth of us as a club to try and be challenging for and getting into European competitions every season, regardless of what European competition that is. We've not had this quality of a side, achieving the things that they are for such a long thing, I'm not sure why any fan wouldn't want more of that…aside from wanting to spend less money going to games of course!
