As an African American, are your roots from Africa or somewhere else?

Not all black Americans believe that they have roots in Africa. This is what this black American had to say…

  1. Most African Americans believe they arrived before “slavery”. Not taking anything away from slavery but Most believe that West Africans of Mali Empire “Mansa AbuBakr” arrived almost two centuries before Columbus. the Moors are said to travel to America before Columbus Truth is there is No red Indians Columbus found black folks from west Africa its a proven fact that Africans had all kinds of boats and was trading Living in Americas centuries before the Europeans came.

  2. Everybody is not entitled to their own opinion when your opinions are based on emotions and not facts. To not correct someone based on emotions is giving them license to mislead others, especially young people.

  3. I think it's a little bit of both. You gotta first no that black people were taking not just from Africa but also Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Great Britain and were brought over as indentured servants or slaves. And yes negro indians were already here and we're enslaved. We the black Americans are a mixture of many different black people.

  4. I personally have done two DNA's. The first one seemed like BS, so I took a more specific DNA test.
I believe some native black Americans were here before anyone else, but those black people also came from Africa originally. Also, it's hard to tell which people separated from Africa far in the past or during the slave trade. The bones may be able to tell.

  5. This is what you get when your history is taken from you.
I really wish we would stop listening to these none professionals on social media telling us who we are or aren't. This is why we can't allow them to take black history out of our schools smh. If you read and take a very simple DNA test you'll have your answer. It's as simple as that.

  6. There are some AA people who do have genetically provable DNA ties to indigenous populations, but just take a DNA test and domes will get you dollars that you will find Nigeria/Ghana/Benin Togo/Mali/Senegal/Sierra Leone/Cameroon-Congo-Southeast Bantu/Ivory Coast…. Embrace with pride!

  7. My DNA revealed I have 40% , Nigerian, 28% Cameroon, Congo and Southern Bantu, 20% Mali, 8% Senegal and the rest mix England, Irish and Scotland. It is my dream to one day visit the land of my ancestors and Gods original creation

  8. To those African American that believe they are the real Native American and Hebrew Israelites I don’t respect their opinions 🤦🏽‍♂️😂🤷🏽‍♂️💀
