  1. Arabs did not invade and migrate to north africa like Europeans migrated to the Americas. Very little migration from the middle east took place in the 11th century. 2 small tribes that spread through the huge north african region so do some north africans have one ancestor from the 11th century? absolutely!!! But it is so diluted since the overwhelming majority was berber in origin that they might not even have inherited the arab genes from that one ancestor back in the 11th century. Most dont even have arab ancestry. We spoke different languages and have had different religions throughout the centuries but we always were and currently still are mostly of berber origin. Even for those who say "but arab is a culture and we are arab culturally". I met real arabs, i dont understand them, we have nothing in common the food, the music, the traditional clothes, art, we have our own style, i have much more in common with a french person than i do with an arab person in terms of culture, so you can call me french if you want to identify people based on culture. Unfortunately many north africans identify as arabs because they don't speak tamazight, instead they adopted a creole that has arabic, french, amazigh and spanish words in it. This creole is not standerdized so it varies from region to region. The arab identity comes from the fact that many are fervent muslims and in their mind you are a superior muslim if you are arab because you actually then can claim that you are related to the prophet and other religious figures thus better than the ignorant berber who does not have noble ancestry. The moroccan king is the perfect example. Claiming to be arab as a north african is self-loathing that has been passed on from generation to generation. But here's the thing, im amazigh ethnically and culturally french. If another amazigh comes to me and calls him/herself arab, i wont correct them, I dont care, they rejected their roots, i know who i am i know my history, if other people are ignorant it is not my problem plus you dont want someone who has no love for amazigh culture to be part of it. If they loved it and were proud of it they would identify as amazigh. They or their ancestors were ashamed of it or were afraid to be enslaved by the arab Khalifa so they passed on the lie and now this generation is paying the price by identifying with an ethnicity (arab) that wants nothing to do with them. Real arabs treat those fake arabs with the greatest of disdain but it is their problem not mine.

  2. So true and I don't even speak Arab, just have the skin colour and African feature. So people tell me oh you speak so well our language…….. I speak fluently 5 languages….

  3. Another one trying to erase the indigenous Amazigh culture. The natives of North Africa are not Arabic!

    Free Palestine
    Free South Africa
    Free Turtle Island
    Free the Western Sahara
    Free the Rif Republic

  4. She people are just trying to get that Arabic money. Especially if they feel that they half half of something and all their friends are full something. Dont mind the early morning or late night comment.

  5. Because if you identify as Moroccan you may pass and they are right, there is no Arabs ethnicity in North Africa and they are not wrong, heck your dna you may found out you’re more German then Moroccan hahaha. I agree with whoever treat as foreigner as you considered yourself as an Arab because you should be in Middle East not in Africa.

  6. Yes, Moroccans speak Arabic, but the Moroccan dialect is much different from Arabic. We hardly understand their words because of the French occupation, and their speech becomes more mixed with French and is very different, but we understand some words, not only Morocco, also Libya and Mauritania.
