Tourists dining in Barcelona were drenched with water guns by angry crowds of anti-tourism protesters marching down the main boulevards.

Carrying banners with slogans including “Tourism kills the city” and “Tourists go home”, several thousand demonstrators rallied through hotspots including the famous La Rambla.

  1. Look at all the commenters who refuse to understand that the SCALE of tourism is the problem, not tourism per se. It's a microcosm of world overpopulation, denied by many fools also.

  2. They should ask the government to regulate the situation instead of directly targeting tourists. 😂😂It's not their fault that the local government has failed to fix the pricing and cost of living issues. They should attack the root cause of the matter..not the symptoms

  3. I feel sorry for these tourists… This world is at a breaking point and will go down, from the look of it. I hope there will be another funny update from an IT company soon enough… bahahaha. no, just kidding. ironic isn't it, traveling is a mess currently most probably.
by the way, I also wonder, if it has to do with Israel and that a certain country has banned them from coming, this smells of Palestine protest world somehow… no idea how it might be connected, but it could be. So many Palestine protesters from the look of it.

  4. so actually, they are protesting against cruise ships. Cause these mass tourists come from the ships, this is all new, it wasn't that bad before the phenomenon of the ships, it just grew bigger and bigger, when they decided to build bigger ships with thousands of tourists on them….
stop the health ruining cruise ships and stop them from harboring on your shores. That will end the problem, most hopefully.

  5. That’s OK I have no interest in visiting anything in Spain to begin with. There’s many other countries on my list that would rather visit before even thinking of Spain. Japan , Korea, UK, France, etc..

  6. How the heck could that be possible ?? In Spain ?? Is the US Trump infection gonna fly over to Europe and a friendly Mediterranean country like "Spain" ? Spain? One of the most friendly and warm welcoming country!! At least those tourists are paying for your own hotels, shops, flight companies, and bringing the hot $€ into your country! So stupid!

  7. They're right cause turist make everyones poor that's true, , that's why Islam , Federal reserve , Muslims , masons , Zionism bolchevism , comunism , rotschild , Rockefeller , soviets , are taking over America and Europe …
that's happening in Mexico but Mexico it's full of corruption , but hey way to go Spain. 😎👍Muy bien ESPAÑA ! Mexico deberia hacer lo mismo oh terminan desplazados

  8. I'm spanish, not from Barcelona, and I feel so embarrassed…
Please, don't think these idiots represent Spain. I lived in Benidorm for more than 10 years. Mi sister still works there. I've got the English C1 certificate and I speak a bit of French and Italian because I've always loved getting on with tourists.

  9. This is what Spaniards are like. They threw bananas at Brazilian players before. They don't understand what the world thinks of them and they think their country is a big country. YouTube sanctions me for calling them barb___ans but it's pretty clear what this kind of behavior refers to. And it's not just tourists and foreigners who are actually affected, good Spaniards too.

PS: Or is it that some group is instigating this sabotage to make Catalonia and Spain look bad? Or are some madmen promoting separatism by indirectly damaging Spain? If there is such a conspiracy, I sympathize with Catalonia and Spain and need to say sorry.

  10. Absolutely, boycott! I worked in Barcelona for two years and found the Catalans hateful and bitter, twisted by Nationalism and generally ignorant and aggressive. Foreign people there face at best hostility and at worst violence. The locals believe they act with impunity. Let's see how long an economy that parasites off tourism can do without it.

  11. Don't bite, parasitical far "left" are puppets of the bank cartels needing to boycot Spanish tourism (Barcelona isn't Spain though)…Bolkenstein …

  12. Some people are worried for Spain they fed up. Only people ho live on tourist areas understand. To much of anything is not good. Needs Capping like Emigration 😂

  13. The moment when socialist communists realize that massive emigration has created problems and their political principles do not allow them to protest this And they blamed tourism for their problems because it is difficult for them to perceive reality

  14. Socialist, Communist, Marxist, haters. If the tourism industry in Spain collapsed So would their economy. 11% of their GDP 13% of their jobs that is what Tourists bring to the table in Spain. The tourists aren’t raping people. The refugees are.

No to tourists who inject cash into the local economy.

Yes to economic migrants who can’t work and leech off of the state.

  15. As a Lithuanian I must say, what's happening with these protests in Spain is just insane. I mean what does the central government in Madrid think, if there will be no tourists there will be no Spain.

Lithuania cannot rely on tourism hence our driven sectors are IT and FinTech, but surely since everyone will try to avoid Spain now I invite all to visit Lithuania, a really amazing country. Feel free to comment down below and I will share more about my recommendations 😊

  16. Good for them. The exact same problem exists in Greece, too many tourists and it has become insufferable for natives. There has to be a limit for this, too many people mean only higher prices, lower quality of services, littering, noise, pollution of areas untouched until recent years. Enough
