  1. What a JOKE- these half based educated Parliamentarians—shamefully most of them can't differentiate between Human Right and Cultural Right—for me may I ask them to show or define Proper Sexual Behavior?
Talking about Middle East Moslem Nations with certain Laws- eg stoning of women accused of Adultery- who did the woman engaged in the act of Adultery- what happened to the male subject involved– what is shameful about the stance of Parliament is the crass Ignorance and Arrogance being displayed. — They seem to focus so much on Sexual intimacy/ intercouse–'how come they miss out of the Companionship aspect.
Believe me the President has said " Not under his watch "--and so he will not sign the Bill- mind you he said not passing a Bill to promote Gay-ism Bill- so as a good Lawyer the President in the same vein will not sign a Bill against Gay-ism
Already in Ghana we have a Law that deals with indecent Sexual Behavior in public. Tell Parliament to go spend precious time to fight The menace of Galamsay in our country. WAKE UP GHANA.

  2. Up front I am not holding brief for anyone. All that I am saying is we should proceed with caution and not submit to any knee jerk reaction.

We should be careful we do not induce external forces to subject our economy to shocks and derailments. We are not an island nor insulated from outside stresses. Neither do we have the financial wherewithal to throw thousands of people into prisons and feed them for no other reason than they are gays.

Let’s pull back from this frenzy of wanting to dump people into prisons for no other reason than they loved someone of the same-sex or gender. Yes, it may be a sin, according to your religion, but sins are not necessarily jailable criminal offences. If that were the case everyone one who has engaged in adultery should be prosecuted and jailed. Eating pork is a sin to some people, should we jail all those who eat pigs?

The point is this drive is futile. In a country where only 4% of the working adults population pay real income taxes, it is foolhardy to take on this enterprise and impose financial burden on the government.

Whereas, I do understand the Ghanaian cultural sentiments and values behind the bill, I don’t think throwing gays into prisons is the best option, if the intent is to deter homosexuality, especially in a country where our prisons are overcrowded, with people sleeping alongside others like sardines. Pictures of inmates in Ghanaian prisons conjure images of how slaves were packed in slavery ships, going from West Africa to the Americas.

Right now, if the bill is signed into law, and the western countries and World Bank begin to subject our economy to hardships by denying us some much needed financial supports, the opposition NDC party would twist things around to their advantage and blame the government. They would harvest the situation to gain favour from the people to come to power. There are already laws on the books against homosexuality, we don’t need any new laws to entrench them.

NPP should not allow Sam George and his NDC to lead them by the nose to the slaughter house as they will not take any ownership should our economy go into the ditch when the bill becomes law. What happens between two consenting adults behind closed doors is none of anybody’s business. There are men who are in relationships with women who engage in anal sex with them. Would you go out and fetch, flush, and jail those people too? Simple rule, if you don’t like gays don’t marry one. Don’t ask don’t tell is the best posture.

  3. Well done Ghana. The future of your country should be self determined and not come from pressures of international Sodom and Gomorrah states, who within their own countries have lossed morals and values, and struggles with these issues. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  4. Yes we are VERY READY for any stupid CONSEQUENCES. We will ALWAYS PUT JESUS and GOD FIRST. Enough of dictating to Africa. Africa will always survive!!!!!

  5. When are you going to free yourselves from the imperialists? Why sanctions?
LGBQT is a thought-through strategy to control your lives.
Be happy and always question Western motives.
It hurts to see how gullible black people are?
Neo-colonialists will always devise something to get you to pursue their agenda. Never yours!

  6. The democrats should not play with Ghana, since most Africans view Ghana as a mouth piece of Africa.
They will lose massive election votes from the African communities in US if they try to sanction Ghana.

  7. Consequences? How dare they? Did they tell Saudi Arabia and other countries there were consequences? The UN can't even stop human rights of genocide happening and they think they have the right to tell the world what they should and shouldn't have? America doesn't dare tell China, Russia or many of the other countries that have existed long before America was ever a nation. This is why BRIC is very important, who is America to tell us men in dresses is human rights? Morality in the West is a joke. Even conservatives in America rejected including Trump over turned this sick twisted LGBTQ Obama issues. So not even in America is there unanimous agreements on this. Ghana is not a Child, we are adult.. this ISHMAEL guy should of corrected his statetement, Africans are the original cratel of humanity, we know what's human rights, we don't need liberal people to tell us what we can and can't do. They will never respect Africa until we stand up and fight for our own rights, we have existed before colonialism and will not allow colonial laws to dictate our rights, WHEN THEY PASS POLYGAMY IN AMERICA THEN COME BACK TO US TO TALK.
