Archaeologists found pyramids, sports fields, causeways connecting districts and amphitheatres in the southeastern state of Campeche.

The hidden complex – which they have called Valeriana – is believed to be second in density only to Calakmul,…

Read the Book of Mormon and find out about the people and their beliefs so long ago.

@fabricecarpenter4472

Haha I like how they say they faded into obscurity due to war and disease, literally was a genocide comited bye the Spanish but keep it PC ๐Ÿ˜‚

@zeusyjay007

IT'S TIME TO BUILD SOME SKYSCRAPERS

@stevenwengrzyn2680

I lived in Belize for many years and had lots of Mayan friends, there are Maya villages and most of the people speak Mayan among themselves but many speak Creole and Spanish also. The Maya are not gone

Wait I've seen this horror movie before…..

@spinfrost

In 1542 they reported vast cities in the Amazon. I wonder if small pox really reset the whole continent.

@utpalrongpee4025

Fake

@hetarthkamdar8707

In India we have a story how a man called Sugreeva travelled across the seas to the land with a trident on its shores. That is El Candelabro in Peru. The ancient knew each other.

@robertfindley921

"Due to war and disease <they> faded into obscurity." Sounds like the path the United States is on.

@YouTubular1234

She's boring.

@Belisonte-dl4gd

Im tired of "faded into obscurity" when the Maya are still alive

@rk41gator

How sad that, due to religion and their greedy zealots, beautiful cities and exotic cultures have been lost to mankind; their libraries burned as being works of the Devil. Now only ruins remain.

@milk_chemistry

Wait it's 15 minutes from a road? How has nobody found this yet

@KushSmokinJack

Are these ones from Forza horizon 5? …

@DarkManBeatzUrFace

Man news should make more of these instead of war corruption and messed up stuff

@GladiatorRambo

Someone was literally making videos showing google maps / satellite view 15 years ago showing where these things were. There's tons of them in the jungles down there that have just gotten overgrown and forgotten with time. This is not new news.

@ripperrouge5985

Apparently the BBC found a old script there which read
"All white ghost people are racist "
And also meat eaters are racist

@jimmg8994

Too bad there wasn't some ancient text written by these people, and available to be read today. Oh wait, there is! Allow me to introduce "The Book of Mormon".

@monicayolandaDaday

Another archaeological discoveries a Mayan City. inside the Jungles ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

@Pansu1

Old news. They said this years ago and when scanned with first lidars, that the jungle is full of huge citys and temples. And these are probably way more older to be covered in such thick layer of earth.

@SupaPoopaScoopa

"The Mayan's fadded into obscurity around 300 years ago"?
Am I the only one that needs that statement explained?

@cesardiaz8832

Ahora el puto gobierno talara miles de kilometro de รกrboles para que su pinche tren mierda pase por ahรญ

@Bluestar405

if you dig down and make noise you might see the warden

@NIgGas-tf5nc

Big block chicken

Can't wait for colonizers to take these artifacts for to museums so the people have to travel and pay to see their own history.
Bad reporting here.

@MFHM15

@primitive technology

@adlersmith8726

There are a lot of those in Belize and Mexico

@behbeh230

It always rubs me the wrong way how the genocide of European colonization isnโ€™t inferred as one of the reasons for the collapses of almost all mesoamerican civilizations.

@leonidtalas696

Shows a 50-70m tall pyramid with zero effort to explain how was building of this size discovered only recently and was hidden by the jungle for all these years. Apparently the discovered structures are only the remains of once big buildings now covered in dense foliage and moss and other deposits. But why I need to guess or deduce that? This is closer to fake news than what one might think.

@NoMoreTortillas1

the spanish completely ruined entire civilizations and history

@PureSwank

"War and desease" lol

@sandshark2517

Time to go have an Indiana Jones adventure

@chrisbarbz9238

So they were searching for ruins and they found this accidentally? Make that make sense.

@brianpeace7585

Climate change got em, yeah must have been all those automobiles and airplanes back then

@007bombastic

Climate change? Really? Is there anything it canโ€™t do?????
