It feels like apple playing catch up. Back in the day it felt like apple were inventing all this new tech, or if it already existed then apple would make it better and mainstream, but this feels like it’s finally adding stuff that’s already popular and actually better else where 🤷♂️

It's been fun watching Apple catch up to some of the ideas we worked on in the Newton. Newton Intelligence let you interact with apps different. Search didn't just search a file system – it asked each app about it's own interpretation of the question. The routing stuff I wrote let you exchange just about anything with anything. I wonder what we could have done with AI in a soup. Everything is possible with software and imagination.

I honestly hate all this AI BS, we are using less and less of our brains. Call me old fashioned but I don’t want to hand my thinking over to a MACHINE.
Do you think maybe due to the fact that AI on phones require a good amount of RAM, Apple is stalling some of these AI features in order to release them closer to the iPhone 17 release, where that model will have more RAM?
