An Honest Explanation of the Rwanda Genocide (Documentary)

In the vibrant tapestry of human history, there exist moments of profound darkness, where the hues of despair and cruelty stain the canvas of time. Among these somber chapters stands the Rwandan genocide, a harrowing testament to the fragility of peace and the depths of human brutality.

The roots of the Rwandan genocide stretch back through…

  1. Thank you for providing more evidence of the devastating consequences of western devide and conquer insidious strategies on this African country. May her people never forget this lesson; of easily trusting & inviting strangers into their inner circles.

  2. This documentary..shows how when someone trying hard to intentionally describe the history in very wrong way…now there are a tone of evidence that shows what really happened since 90 today. Ubwenge old fashioned propaganda

  3. Thank you African Biographies for trying to balance this difficult presentation. As a Rwandan myself from a mixed family of Hutu & Tutsi parents, I can assure you that most of your sources are pro-tutsis propaganda the only accepted by President Kagame's regime. 2 important facts to re-visit:
*before the arrival of colonialists, Tutsi Monarchy-feodal regime had enslaved hutu masses and treated them as inferior diots, only good for hard labor. However, colonists exacerbated that situation and most Tutsis enjoyed it. We have many proverbs & tales in kinyarwanda literature attesting that.
**The 1959 tentions were started by Tutsi aristocrats who didn’t want to relinquish power to their former slaves, the same thing President Kagame did on 6/4/1994 by downing the plane that was carrying TWO Hutus Presidents (of Rwanda & Burundi), following the assassination ot the first ever Hutu President of Burundi 5 months earlier in Bujumbura on 21/10/1993. Today both tribes lost thousands of theirs during that tragedy but only Tutsis are allowed to be remembered, hence the new appellation of "genocide against Tutsis".
I would love to see all Hutu & Tutsi 's evils exposed, all victims & survivors recognised because those are the real root causes of our nation's woes. Then we will begin to talk about true reconciliation.

  4. > immediately begins the video by blaming the "seeds of discord planted by colonial powers"
You've already failed at providing an honest explanation. The idea that colonialism is to blame for all of Africa's problems is a comfortable lie but the bitter truth is that reconciliation is not possible without accountability. I have enjoyed your other videos but now I have my doubts on the veracity of them.

  5. It’s incredibly interesting that this backwards s-hole country couldn’t do anything- good or bad- without assistance and influence from the west. Just a corrupt wasteland.

  6. Needs to be watched by everyone. This isn't an isolated phenomena… colonialism has left a terrible legacy that most americans know Nothing about.

  7. Genocide wil happene again in Rwanda if these people don't seat together and solve their differences like Burundi is trying to do.they should treat one another equal, and Tutsi should stop with their superiority complex, bantu people are overfrendly that's their weackness but why not try to live with them instead of trying to take advantage of their weakness as your fellow black ,so you want to enslave your fellow black like whits did! thinking that you're white just because you have straight nose white hate everything that's black including you tutsi, white hate themselves and you'll never be acknowledged by white as their brothers no matter how hard you try to impress them by doing as you are told (kagame)they will never see you as them because you are black skinned 😢 if you don't learn to live with hutu in Armony you guys will slaughte one another again like it happened in 94 because hutus will not accept to be maltreated in their own land and they will always avenge their country if they get the chance.if kagame is truly intelligent as he pretend to be he should set real peace amongs his people before death hit his door but his arrogance won't let him do that so all what he has worked for all these years, the so called developing rwanda it is temporary and rwandese people "especially Tutsi" will face a nightmare in most African countries if they don't drop their pride and arrogance and establish a true armony by living with bantu peacefully, kagame and all the Tutsi supporting his regime they should know that everything has beginning and end,and if they are in power is because the west has favored them over Hutu and bantu in general for so long now it's not their efforts only that put them in power.donz forget the Western world is declining and eventually they will crash and they will no longer be able to manipulate any African country.no power rules forever no matter how long it takes it will come to an end that's the law of nature,so when the western world that supports Tutsi people and disregards bantu crash in to pieces what image will Tutsi have in Africa when kagame is gone and white folks are weak to back you up!as many African are knowing who you're now due to Congolese exposing your game of serpent 🤔 if you're truly wise think now, bantus are the majority in Africa apart Arabs,so will you be able to defeat bantu without white behind you! You will not run in drc like you did in 94 because drc will have learned from what you did to it people both you tutsi and Hutu.it might be far but it'll happen whoever live will witness…try to paint a perfect picture instead of thinking to take over congo because you won't succeed to conquer the Great congo as you have conquered Rwanda because Congo got all bantu's ancestry spirits all over you can leave in but never you will rule it permanently never…

  8. Am not Rwandan, but l hate how the Nyarwanda allowed the west via the Catholic Church, Belgium and France to divide and kill. It's immoral to allow foreigners divide you.Currently, that divide is like an inactive volcano 🌋🌋 which can be activated any time. That is evidenced by Rwanda's puppecy to the west and lsrael in the mineral looting of DRC. Africans in that region are too obedient to the west than genuine African history.

  9. There is no such thing of Rwanda Genocide sir… it is the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi there was no such thing on radio propaganda saying kill Rwanda it was kill Tutsi , when the Hutu 10 commandments where made and written in the news paper it didn’t say Hutu should stop have mercy on Rwandan but they said should stop have mercy to Tutsi…. Please say things in the name if not you are here trying to change and manipulate the history of the country.

  10. Obviously you are talking of a topic you do not master. You have no idea interior tutsis and hutus were victims of exterior extremist tutsis who attackrd Rwanda from Uganda. They had fled Rwanda in 1959 after committing Genocide against Hutus as the Hutus attempted to overthrow tutsi monarchist system that had enslaved them for over 4 centuries. You have no idea how many opponent tutsis are being killed each year by the current regime of extremist tutsis. You have no idea INYENZI ( translateed cockroaches) is an abbreavition for INgangurarugo yiYEemeje kuba ingeNZI, was coined by the same extremist tutsis in reference to the past tutsi royal army to mean high military tactics of attacking the ennemy and subtly hiding without being seen. Cynically, the same extremists who coined the term INYENZI falsly attributed this to hutu victims that it was used deshumanise tutsis. One day, Truth will prevail over falsewhood. God help us 🙏

  11. I have never had Rwanda's and Burundi's history articulated so objectively. We pray for you our brothers, The essence of history is for us to learn from the past mistakes and triumphs and to chat a better present and future for our coming generations.

  12. Thanks for this video. As a Nigerian, it is so refreshing to see objective and factual discourse of African history and geopolitics. I appreciate how you correctly point out that colonialism was not what created the Tutsi-Hutu divide. It already existed. Colonialism just accentuated it😢 Your videos are not plagues by identity politics or fallacies, just history. Respect to you, sir. You gained a sub

  13. Whoever talks about Rwanda during colonization and omit to mention the fact that the favored Tutsi lost the privileges because they embraced decolonization ideas, does not give a honest narrative. The fight started first between the elite and the colonizers. Which led to the murder of the King Mutara II. The Belgians turned to Hutu and the PARMEHUTU wanted to first deposit the monarchy before being offered independence by the Belgians. Which was the deal for the new alliance.

  14. I worked in Rwanda for three months in 2009.
It was a very good experience. The people were nice to foreigners and the animosities between the ethnical divides were not perceptible.
    It is a beautiful country.

  15. Rwanda will for ever be at civil war between the hutus and tutsis. You dont hear the twas involved in any drama. Thats because the tutsis want dominance while the hutu wont allow it!

  16. The hutu leaders were perfect students of Adolf Hitler and his nazi system. Very disturbing that they reached these levels to destroy fellow black people! Shame on whoever is still alive and participated in his evil!

  17. This is not even close to an honest exploration of the Rwandan genocide. You potray Paul Kagame as the savior of UTU's when he was the chief architect of the Genocide. History is written by the victor. This history as you have provided aligns very perfectly with the victor's narrative. Sad Indeed.

  18. It was Hutu militias and civilians refugees accrosssed congolese borders in 1994. 30 years later, it's a portion of tutsis declaring a territory in Congo.

Franckly speaking, genocide was a fortuity even, but it's happened anyway. General Romeo Dallaire thinks Congo was the plan,…but it has to pass by shuffling Rwanda's stability to get the way in to Congo. You well mentioned that tutsi were spread in Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania and Congo. If the Congo was not the target in USA's objective, then why refugees are blocked on Tanzania borders and relocated to Congolese borders ?

Your narrative is somehow one sided. But in one word, Belgium is the root of all evil in Rwanda. Those first missionaries who differentiated Tutsi from hutu by measuring their noses, lips and teeth gum were the first root of all evil.

  19. Well, your presentation is the general narrative fed out there in the mainstream media and some academic aisles. But having come in proximity with some of those who were members of the rebels under the banner of FPR and the current Rwanda government, the story contradicts some of the parts in your video. Those who attempted to tell the other side of the story have been eliminated, and this systematic elimination of any discordant voice on Rwanda Genocide is still taking place to this day. Complex it is, as you highlighted at the beginning of your video and throughout your presentation, the truth is yet to be told???

  20. AM IN TEARS…. WHY DO WE AFRICANS KILL OURSELVES??? THANK YOU KAGAME FOR WHAT YOU DID AND HOW YOU HAVE HELD THE COUNTRY TOGETHER😢😢😢
