Hip hop is a result of African music.
I'd say it came full circle. The roots of many African/Black American music, food etc have origins in Africa. Now Africans are borrowing from Black Americans and back to America.
Black American culture influenced the entire world yet the world wants to stay in denial about that while taking from our culture. Also Hiphop and R&B is not the only genres Black Americans created. We created country, rock and roll, jazz, house music, etc
I don't think Africans know the extent of African American cultural influence. Even in this video, when the lady mentions that Africa is now influencing America, then she mentions the artist, Black Coffee, from SA, and said he's spreading house music across the world. House music is an African American creation. Even Afrobeat is the product of American American influence. When people listen to Fela Kuti, they don't realize that they're basically listening to jazz/soul fusion. From our style of dress, speech, dance, music, cuisine, and customs, our culture is easily the most widespread culture in the world.
Americans have no culture.
things of culture seem to be dire
The woman in the pink jacket is so beautiful🥰
I believe Africans need to learn more about African-American. We African Americans have our own culture it is not American culture. America just benefit off of it.
Hip hop didn't come from slavery you dummy.
The person that responded to Wiz Khalifa is not American.
I honestly had no idea our cultural influence was so intense in Africa.
Thank u for finally giving Americans( particularly Black Americans) the props we deserve…So often Africans speak down on Black Americans, which is mind boggling to me…I realize that certain parts/ people of my culture is not positive or pleasing BUT ITS NOT ALL OF US…We definitely want to build a cultural bridge between Black Americans and Africans, ONE LOVE!!!
You guys do know that a lot of people who attend afro punk are natives from different countries in Africa, don't you? It's not just African Americans dressing in African attire. First generation African Americans come from all over America to attend the festival
