We're aware that Vietnam was historically part of China during various dynasties, sharing cultural and traditional ties. Interestingly, even during the Qing Dynasty, Vietnamese scholars participated in the central examinations to qualify for government positions. I am sure the Chings have more honors than the Slovak in Ukraine to value their relationship with their neighbor.

America doesn’t give up much since it “invested” very little in Vietnam (compared to other Asian countries), and China,being labeled as “unfriendly” (according to anti-China media) didn’t invest much either until recently. The reasons that investments form China into VN has increased dramatically in the last 5 years is mainly due to the trade war between China and the US, and the new attitude of Vietnamese government toward Chinese entrepreneurs (which they wrongly distrusted in the past)
