  2. We're aware that Vietnam was historically part of China during various dynasties, sharing cultural and traditional ties. Interestingly, even during the Qing Dynasty, Vietnamese scholars participated in the central examinations to qualify for government positions. I am sure the Chings have more honors than the Slovak in Ukraine to value their relationship with their neighbor.

  4. Fought a botch war that pissed off both north and south Vietnam, now they want to come back to the very people they pissed off with nothing but threat and lecture, who does this?

America doesn’t give up much since it “invested” very little in Vietnam (compared to other Asian countries), and China,being labeled as “unfriendly” (according to anti-China media) didn’t invest much either until recently. The reasons that investments form China into VN has increased dramatically in the last 5 years is mainly due to the trade war between China and the US, and the new attitude of Vietnamese government toward Chinese entrepreneurs (which they wrongly distrusted in the past)

  7. Those numbers look very good from Vietnamese perspective. And there is alway a place in Vietnamese hearts and minds for America. So its up to Americans and US businesses really. Maybe the 21st century will be a Vietnamese century….
